*Starlight Tavern* Songs, Games, and Taverns

Basically, a 'Tavern Cat' started out as a barn cat that kept company at the taverns. They were most often picked off the street, and any significant breed standards were quickly lost. However, they grew more empathetic towards humans, more intelligent. Before long it was impossible to deny that they were sentient life, and today they are considered close companions. They lead the wandering home. They are a warm body on a cold night. A guardian in the dark. They are the cats of the Starlight Taverns.

To help clarify, taverns are where cats are kept rp wise. While eventually the majority of users will probably have their own taverns, they do affect any event where cats would be interacting with each other. (The most obvious would be breeding.) Cats who are in separate taverns cannot, under normal circumstances, interact with each other. It isn't necessary for you to keep your kitty in any particular tavern, but I feel like it adds a nice roleplay element.

Taverns are never quiet places. Full of loud, boisterous men late in the evenings, and giggling, gossiping girls throughout the day, there is always something going on in the local tavern.

There appear to be a few shadows lurking in the corners and on top of stairs. Perhaps a good song will draw them out? (One per person for now)

Reasoning behind the Name: I've always associated myself with the element of fire and wildfire's are large fires that are often quite unpredictable. They're also not entirely bad things, either. There are some trees, for example, that can only reproduce with the effects of a fire. It's an appealing name for a tavern, where meeting new people can have unexpected effects that can be both positive and negative.

Tavern Name: Safe Haven
Reasoning behind the Name: It's a remnant from an online browser based game I used to play.  there was a lot of PVP, and a little bit of RP.  You could build your own "towns" on the world map, and use them as storage dumps for your clans, staging areas for attacking other peoples towns etc.  There were big towns in the game, non player run, they were called capitols, and they were supposed to be relatively safe, but even those could be attacked and defeated if you had a strong enough attacking force.

One of my RP characters was a little imp named Ian.  he was a peaceful monk type, and he welcomed everyone into his life.  It didn't matter if they were of the "light" races (humans elves dwarves etc) or the "dark" races (drow, orcs, trolls etc).  he welcomed everyone.  At one point, he founded his town.  He named it Safe Haven, and let it be known far and wide that EVERYONE was welcome.  He placed it exactly midway between the light and dark lands, right smack dab in the middle of the swampy fen (at that time, it was the biggest slaughter field for warring races and just flat out pvp'ers) and posted his signs.  The rules were simple, you were welcome to stay at Safe Haven, rest, recover, live there if you wanted to.  As long as you didn't fight.  There was to be no fighting at Safe Haven, or even within a certain radius around it.  If you broke the rules you would be summarily kicked out of town and banned from returning.

When I made that town, I fully expected my little imp to "die" repeated deaths.  But to my (happy) surprise, a game that held primarily pvp'ers with just a few rp'ers, came together in my imps little town, and orcs and elves, humans and trolls.. they all lived, for however short their stay happened to be, side by side in peace.  When they left the town, and the specified radius, their battles and fighting with each other resumed.  But my little town remained for years real life time, as an oasis of peace and sanctuary.

Periodically, I like to "revive" Safe Haven, in other games or Rp's.  Naming a tavern/bar this, in a potentially RP driven adopt, well, it seemed like a suitable setting for "rebuilding" my little imps home.
