Hiring Geneticist. 

Or whatever it would be called heh  Basically I need someone who knows genes and how they work.  SC's was never meant to breed based on genetics, but some colorists like to do so.  I want to make it a little easier for anyone who colors for me and wishes to use genetics, so I want someone who has the time to go through all the existing SC's and make a list of their genetics for me. 

There are multiple parts to this, I want the list to include the genetics like this (E? aa cc rr dd gg ?? ww ll ?? tt oo ?? ?? zz ) as well as the descriptive words for the color/markings like this (Stallion is Red Dun, Paint, Snowflake Appaloosa.)  That way if a colorist wishing to use genetics that is (like me) is confused by the first format, they can use the second.  Some of the SC's already have part of this information, but you'd need to double check that it is correct, as I don't really know equine coats that good.  Some also have special breeding percentages and such listed, that has nothing to do with "real" genetics, and more to do with events/special stuff.  So these would stay and be ignored by you for now.

Some SC's are not realistically colored for equines.  This also needs to be noted.  I have done some Off-Coloreds, but they may not be marked.  I need to know which ones are off-coloreds.  Off-Colored for this adopt simply means the colors on the horse are real horse colors, and the markings are real horse markings, but the colors and markings don't match up with reality.  Like a paint horse in reality is whatever base color the horse is, with white paint marking.  An off-colored paint horse, the paint could be a different color then white.  Brown, cream, etc.  There shouldn't be a lot of these out there right now, but I need to know which ones are there.

And finally, there are non-equine mimics.  These also shouldn't be too very many, but I do need to know which ones these are so I can update their information.  Even if it is a non equine mimic that was converted to equine markings, I'd like to have their information state such, and have some form of genetics available for breeding purposes should a colorist wish to use them.

In addition to the existing SC's, I'd ideally like the same person to be available to give me the genetics on future SC's imported.  I can hire someone else to do future stuff if needed/as needed, but I'd like for it to be the same person doing it all if possible.  So this could be a temporary job for existing ones if you want, or a permanent job if you like.

What do I owe you?

It's been a while since I could do anything with this shop, and I am afraid I might have forgotten stuff I owe.  So if I owe you anything, please post here and let me know what I owe you, and give any details you can to help jog my memory.

I do know I have to give prizes out from the last event thread I had going, the snow one that had to be cut short because of stuff IRL here.  I'll be having a look at that soon, and try and sort things out.

I also had an uncompleted deal to do a mimic of Simon (Symon?) for someone in exchange for something.  But I can't remember what I was going to get in return for this (I know I didn't get it, as I was supposed to do the mimic first) and I can't remember who it was (Winged maybe, or Wild?).

And I had been working on stuff for YLO, but can't remember if I got everything finished or not.

Beyond that, I can't remember if I owe anything, so again, please post here and let me know if I owe you anything!

I can do that job ^^ it sounds like a wonderful way for me to stay active with an adoptable now that I can't do any coloring. Also I don't think all the guinea pig mimics are done but I'll dig through things to know for sure!

Wild you may be right, like I said I honestly can;t remember.  I thought we were waiting because I still had a lot of stuff owed and wanted to knock it out first, but there was just so much that started going on for me around then that I can't remember anything for certain. 

Arty I can't either, and tbh never saw where it much mattered.  but then that could be because I don't really "get" genetics at all anyway so.. but for the purpose of this and folks who may color wanting to use the genes, I;d want them to have that paint type info available if at all possible, just in case. 

YLO does that mean you want the full time ongoing job?  Sounds like it anyway lol  I did remember you offered before, but wasn't sure if you still had time now or not.

If you're offering for long term permanent helper, then we'll need to figure out two payment methods.  One for any future work you do for new SC's, and one for the big bulk job of all the existing ones. 

SG is of course always an option, but I know not many people need/want that.  Customs, extra breedings, semi customs, premades.. let me know what your thinking of in the way of compensation.

For the initial big bulk (almost 400) of existing SC's, you can also look at any pets I have up for bid if you wan, doesn't have to be just SC's.

I will want to get anything I still owe you and others done before taking on customs/semi's etc though, so if you want those they will go on the to-do list behind existing stuff.  Just something to think about when considering payment options.  I do think you and Wild might be the only people I have left with stuff owed (not counting that event thread, but those prizes if memory serves are already done and uploaded as premades..) so hopefully it won't take me too long to knock stuff out.

I managed to get almost all of my files transferred to this comp from my shuttle's hard drive, so will be able to start coloring again soon.  Just trying to figure out this adobe, it's a different version then i had on my shuttle and a bit confusing to me.  But I'm only going to get used to it by using it I guess, so if you can get me any info on stuff I still owe you as soon as you can, I can try and work on it

Same here, but I have a friend on another site who is teaching me the differences. I'd love to be your geneticist, I wouldn't require much in the way of payment just maybe a custom or something for every 150 or so XD

Arty I've decided to go with YLO.  She has helped me with a few in the past already, so as long as she feels capable of handling it I do prefer as I said to have the same person working on it all.

If however, she finds it is too much for her at any point, I'll let you know and perhaps you could work together at that time.

I do sometimes hire for other things, on temporary/guest basis, if you think you would be interested in helping in other ways, I can see what else I need doing.  You can post, or PM me if you want to discuss stuff anytime
