{Garden Noms} Halloween 2013 - Ghost Hunt!

Alright, the ghost hunt is over but there's one more ghost floating around and it's desperately looking for a home - ideally one with many other ghosties!

So if you're still ghostless, post a photo of a haunted place (doesn't have to be a house) along with some information about it (could be a short text or a link or both). You have until Friday at 8:00 secundi time. Ghosty and I will then choose our favourite one.

I'm pretty sure that this is my first time ever hosting a Halloween event on secundi. I'm excited!

How do I hunt Nom ghosts?
First you'll have to wait for me to post a location. They're all English locations because there are just too many haunted places everywhere for me to look further afield.
Once a location has been posted it's time to roll the dice in order to summon a spirit. Everyone rolls 1d31 - you need a 13 to summon the ghost. You can try once per location or once a day if we're stuck in a certain location for longer.
If you manage to summon a ghost and it follows you home then I'm afraid you'll have to stay away from further ghost hunts. No one can handle more than one ghost! D:

On Halloween the ghosts will come back to life. They're actually the ghosts of very special Noms with a new limited lineart and they'll be the only 1st gen Noms with those lines.

Legend varies, but mostly states that the attic room of the house is haunted by a spirit of a young woman who committed suicide there.She purportedly threw herself from the top floor windows after being abused by her uncle;and is said to be capable of frightening people to death. The spirit is said to take the form of a brown mist; though sometimes it is reported as a white figure.

Eeeeeee, this is such a great idea for an event! Haunted houses, yay! Nom ghosties that come back to life! Can't wait to see the ghosts and the Noms!

I'm glad that you like it. It took quite a bit of preparation but I always enjoy doing special events for the Noms. ^_^

I just hope that I get them all adopted out before Halloween. I think 1d22 gives a fair chance for a 13 but if a location lasts more than a few days I might have to think of something.

I'm getting warm fuzzy memories of the Skyreels right now, they always had cute little things like a present or a feather or a puffball that would 'grow' into different Skyreels. ^^

Arundel Castle



Arundel Castle in Sussex is often said to be home to just four ghosts but there are more ghostly goings on between its ancient walls than first meets the visitor. The spirit of the first Earl of Arundel, who originally built the castle, is said to still haunt the Castle's Keep. Another spirit is said to be of a young woman who, stricken with grief from a tragic love affair, took her own life by jumping to her death from one of the towers. Seen by some, she is said to still haunt the castle on moonlit nights dressed in white. Another spirit is that of a 'Blue Man' who has been seen within the library since the 1630s and it is thought that he could be a Cavalier due to his time period seeming to be from King Charles I's reign. Another notable 'spirit' is that strangely of a white owl like bird. Legend tells that if the white bird is seen fluttering in one of the windows, it is an imminent warning of a death of a Castle resident or someone closely associated.

I'm afraid it's only English places. I should have probably extended my range a bit as I'm sure that there must be some gorgeous locations in Scotland. It looks like they even have their own separate wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reportedly_haunted_locations_in_Scotland

I'm debating whether to post the next location straight away or wait till tomorrow. There are only 6 ghosts all in and I don't want this event to be over too quickly. What do you guys think?

Chillingham Castle


The most famous ghost of the castle is the "blue (or radiant) boy", who according to the owners used to haunt the Pink Room in the castle. Guests supposedly reported seeing blue flashes and a blue "halo" of light above their beds after a loud wail. It is claimed that the hauntings ceased after renovation work revealed a man and a young boy inside a 10-foot-thick wall. Documents dating back to the Spanish Armada were also found within the wall.

I just have to ask... Why is the wall 10 feet thick? Were they that worried someone was going to blast through the walls? Or was that their way of sound proofing?

Yes, it could do but if it takes too long, I'll think of something. Maybe ask a questions about the place and the first person to answer gets the ghost.

I probably won't do any more of them but we'll see. ^^
