Help the Hopeless Newb?

First of all, hi guys! I'm Abiandra...and I'm a hopeless newbie. Halp!

I used to be a member of a long-dead adoptable forum years ago. Like, it's probably been a decade. And that forum had a "transactions" board where you kept track of your sales/purchases and your currency. You had to edit your post every time you bought/sold something and calculate your monies. So...this format is new to me. I'm not sure how you guys manage transactions. Do I need to add everyone I buy/sell with to my "buddy list" in order to send them their SG owed from a sale? Is that all automated? If so, thank goodness. I hated keeping track of all my transactions!

Another question...where do you guys "page" your adopted critters? I was active with adoptables way back when Geocities was still a thing, and we all had our own websites where we would house our pets. Do you guys have websites? Is there an equivalent of Geocities that I could use? Do I even need a website to adopt pets....or is everything "paged" on Secundi?

Lastly, what's the difference between the onsite Agencies and the booths in the market place? I'm not sure I fully understand how the shops work. Do I set up sales for my adoptables in the General Booths board? Do I need to only create one thread, or do I create a new one for each sale/auction/breeding opportunity? And what are events; how do they work?

Gosh, I'm really sorry for being so...clueless. I've been trying to figure this all out, I promise. I hate to bother you guys with my silly questions, but I'm just so confused 

Any and all information you guys can impart would be really helpful. I'm trying to get a full understanding of this place before I get started. Thanks <3

There are probably many people here who can explain stuff better than I can but I'll give it a shot.

Yes, it's all automated and you need to have everyone you send SG to on your buddy list so they appear in the drop down menu.

Another question...where do you guys "page" your adopted critters? I think the majority of secundi Users probably don't have websites for their adoptables. The agency pets are automatically "paged" on secundi and for adoptables that don't have agency status, people tend to put them on their display page (that little link under my name) or have a thread in the Boarding areas.

I think this is the bit that I'm going to struggle with explaining but bear with me. XD
"Events" is just another word for sales or giveaways or auctions or other stuff like that and there's often many different things going on in the same thread. As far as I know, you can have a new thread for each event (which is what I like to do) but if you want to consolidate all your adoptable business into one thread, that's fine too.
On-site agencies hold their events in the General Booths just like any other adoptable. Most of the agencies started off as adoptables. You can apply to have your adoptable become and agency every few months when there's a thread in the herald section. The advantage of being an agency is that you can upload your adoptables straight to the website and then people can trade them back and forth between each other without you having to do anything. It also keeps track of pedigrees for you.

I hope I've managed to help a little. Secundi can be a little confusing at first but you get used to it.

One thing I'd like to point out is the difference between an Agency shop and a regular adoptable shop. Not that there is a lot of difference! Almost all Agency shops used to be regular adoptable shops here on the Secundi forum, and then during occasional voting times here on the forum, the people voted on them as favorite shops which get elevated to Agency status. The perks of having an Agency shop is that the pets of that shop automatically get displayed on someone's Pet pages, and there's more automated options available for the shop runner (like having a pet grow automatically from a baby to an adult form after a certain amount of time, or having a pedigree page that shows the breeding line of parents and grandparents of that pet).

But as Leet said, both Agencies and regular adoptables both have their active events in the same place, the General Booths forum. There is no probation period here on the forum, so if you want to jump right into running your own adoptables now, feel free! Or just jump right into some games in the General Booths section.
