The Untamed - I'm seeing SPOTS! -New Events-

To those who bred their Untamed during our first breeding season please remember at the start of April I'll be going through litters and messaging those who have more than the 4 pups specified, I'm hoping to remove this limit either next breeding season or the one after that.

So this isn't an Easter event, it's an event about ... spots I suppose, I'll be leaving most of this to Mini Mutt whose redraw is still coming soon look forward to Mini Mutt in a dinosaur costume :3

This event is also sort of about my dog Violet's birthday which is April 2nd, so it's now over in my time but it's still her birthday by Secundi's time. She's been a big, artistic inspiration to me so she's definately had some effect on The Untamed over the last 3 years.... including there being a mimic of her XD

Mutt's dog Violet is in disguise as another breed of dog... and apparently a male one, lazy Mutt couldn't be bothered editing the base it seems. That lazy, lazy Mutt. This event isn't even wild animal related *shakes head*

This photo was from a photo session Mutt did for her father, of his cat Sparkie and her dog Violet (whom he often calls his 'doggie'... for a man who claims he doesn't like dogs he sure adores Violet) this wasn't the photo chosen for the print he now keeps in his room but there's something wrong with this one... someone added a fake spot to Violet!

To guess this one draw a circle around the spot you believe to be the fake (Mutt tried not to make it too hard but it blends in rather well huh?) and post a link to your circled spot image in the thread the winner will receive a full custom with one condition it must include at least one spot!

This image is of an Untamed, or rather a section of an Untamed, the first one to correctly guess the Agency ID of the Untamed pictured will win the above Bobcat.

Yep merle spots can count provided at least some of the patches look like spots, I won't be colouring any spotty Untamed quite yet but you'll know soon enough if those spots were inspiring lol.

Well I was thinking Kangal dog but being that they're essentially one and the same Riverwind you get the spotty custom, (here in Australia the breeds were once separated only by the Anatolian Shepherd standard standard calling for a rectangular muzzle, whilst the Kangal standard called for a square muzzle... Early in 2012 the ANKC decided there was no difference between the two and decided to merge them so now all dogs formerly registered as Kangal dogs are all registered as Anatolian Shepherds... which begs the question why do I still use the word Kangal?) <-- Little Australian National Kennel Club history lesson I don't even know why I know this let alone posted it herel

The form for your custom is on The Untamed's Agency display page, you will however need to incorporate spots of some kind into the design

Wow I never would have guessed that! I was thinking it must be a spitz-type dog because of the curled tail, but couldn't find any spitz-type with a head shaped like that when I searched through google. Congrats River!

I'll try to get a few of these inspirational spots done later on tonight after my walk, it's Violet's birthday and it rained on and off all morning so she missed out on going to the dog park so probably going to be gone for at least two hours lol.

They are also being used in Nambia to help protect livestock from cheetah attacks. This proved to be so successful that they're doing the same in Kenya, too.

I've coloured this guy with vitiligo as that was the only way I could think of getting white spots like that on a canine coat, I've seen a few photos of greyhounds with it... interesting side note my father has it on his legs I remember being really confused as to why he had spotty legs when I was a kid XD

Oh how nice of her Violet would love a nice dead hare/rabbit XD She was terribly disappointed when she learned Mutt was too cheap to buy her a cake all she got was a harness to clip her leash to for walkies so she can't break any more collars... the biscuit they gave her at the pet store counter as a birthday treat was a better gift than that in her opinion.

Posted a little list of the coloured Spots themed Untamed mentioned earlier I'm just going to colour one Bobcat and then I'll post the first little trivia and the first correct answer can pick from the list.

That is very interesting! I actually had no idea what the condition was called, but I recall once seeing a boy who worked at a mideval fair with his parents, I believe his nationality was east Indian, who had this same skin condition, and I never knew what it was. I only remember finding him incredibly interesting because the patterning was almost lace-like. I was about 16 at the time so I had no idea and the artist in me has always had a tendency to see beauty in such things ^^;

It's definitely interesting, apparently the symmetrical patterns (which can appear lace like, my dads sort of is too) is a common form of vitiligo  however being that vitiligo only occurs in 1% of people it seems odd to call it common.

I'm sure you'll think of something Kadana, I remember a friend of mine once tried to convince me to give my name as Desmond at a chippy, I ended up giving them the name 'Desmerelda' which I thought might pass as the female equivalent. I'm not saying call her Dexterella but I'm sure there's something similar and more sensible XD

So since I'd like Toffeeca to post which Untamed she'd like before holding a new trivia for one of the pre-coloured Untamed (so there's no squabbles over one n particular lol) I'm going to do something a little different, this time if you win you can post a species and gender and I'll colour a spotty Untamed for you.


I'll make this one really easy, so Mutt can't seem to come up with spot related trivia that isn't German Pointer related, but why is Mutt so fond of German Pointers?
