Runi's going to college next school year, and just finished getting back decisions from the four colleges I applied to. Unfortunately I got rejected by Cornell, but I didn't really want to go there anyway so it doesn't really concern me. What does matter is that my dream school, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, did accept me :D I'm gonna be majoring in animal science and hopefully will be able to work with the horses there so I'm uber excited~

It makes me sad seeing how many people are being rejected from colleges, though. I'm seeing many more posts on facebook about rejections rather than acceptances, and it's just cause California has absolutely no budget for education at the moment :/

Congrats! I was also an animal science major, focusing in equine stuff :) I hope you have a blast!

Silvanon

Congrats on getting into the college you wanted!

Oohh I'm doing that too, Saturn! Hoping to be a vet someday :D

Thank you both <3

On another really happy note, I just got asked to prom!!!

Neocridders

Congrats on your acceptance! I'm almost done with my freshman year at BGSU. :3 If you were closer, I'd say you should come on over here! xD

So exciting! Congrats again!

If you go to Cal Poly SLO and participate with the huntseat equestrian team, I'll be competing against you at the regional horse shows! :) My uni is also in Zone 8 Region 1.

Thanks Neo :D Unfortunately Ohio's a bit far XD

:O I don't think I'll be able to join the team this coming year since I've never done anything with horse competitions, but that is so cool! Maybe it'd be possible to go watch? I don't know how location is decided either lol

Ravvana

Here's the website for our region which has info about where comps were held this year. Next year should be more or less the same. And there's a link to SLO's team page there, too :)

If the Equestrian teams out there are run by the IHSA, which, from Rav's post, they are, then they should, in theory, take people from all levels, even if you've never competed and stuff :)

I had a lot of fun on my team with Rutgers and I know we had some relative beginners doing the walk-trot classes. They also had riding lessons set up through the team, so even if you didn't want to compete, you could still go to the lessons.

But a word to the wise... the guy who created the IHSA, Bob Cacchione, is a weird, weird dude, lol.
