       Capranis, plural caprani, are also known as goatdogs, billydog, nannydog. This is is because of their canine appearance shares features with goats, namely their nose and horns. They can also make a baa/bleating sound. Males almost always have horns that are usually large. Females have little horns or non at all. It's not uncommon for Capranis to have a set of split hooved feet.
   Caprani have many breeds. Dendi have the most unique body structure, but most breeds have their own look. Each breed also have specific horns that are signature to them, but any breed can have any horn structure.

The most common breeds are:
Landrece -
Come in smooth and rough coat. Though they haven't been changed that much by breeders, many breeds come from them. They're able to perform many jobs. A jack of all trades, they are common and are a favored pet.

Mestere-
The fastest of all capranis breeds, their foreleg join proportions resemble a horse more than a dog. Their manes can vary in texture and length, and they have a a short tail draped in fur. All four legs ending in hooves regularly occur, sometimes being mono hooves.

Anmun-
A desert breed. Their signature feature is their huge ears for heat to escape. They are leggy and skinny, with a deep chest meant for running. Their fur is short and smooth, their tails skinny and occasionally in in a tuft of fur.

Inse-
Bred for a cold hardy highland, inse are covered in a densely packed double coat. The fur is heaviest around their neck, forelegs, and back legs. Their small, rounded ears are occasionally folded.

The more uncommon breeds:
Eski-
Strong, meant to be harnessed and pull things. They have a heavy coat. Their tails curl and their paws have extra strong claws for gripping. They never have hooves.

Varhundt-
Caprani of the Varhundt breed are strong and muscled. They were bred to have smaller ears, strong jaws, and usually a stub tail. They occasionally have looser skin. They are meant for guarding, especially from predators.

Kacia-
Very intelligent. Their ears are rounded and their tails are long and often curled, their cheek/ankles/elbows and occasionally tails are tufted with wispy furs. They tend to be quieter than other capranis. More likely than other breeds to sport dainty fairy wings and antennae.

Dendi-
Short legs and a cheery attitude flag this capranis as an excellent pet. They have a tailless variety, with their rump ending in long fur, called manx.

Bak'shir-
Bak'shir (bahk-sheer) are mostly distinguished by their unique wooly fur, which is often used to make textile materials. Their legs and face are covered in a shorter fur that is usually a few shades difference from the main coat, however they can also be completely different or the same. The bak'shir have a knack for climbing the steepest of mountains. it's not uncommon to find them with all four legs ending in split hooves.


Offspring from two different breeds is called mix and while they cannot compete in breed shows, they can in athletic shows. Sometimes if breeds are bred together carefully enough, and consistency is achieved, a new breed is born.

Caprani are active for four real time years. They retire on their third birthday. If your Capranis was born March 15, 2010 and it's now March 15 2014, they are now retired. They cannot breed or participate in competition.

Kennels

Taking new kennels?: Yes!

Caprani are bred in kennels. These are run by users. Kennels can breed anytime it says open at the top of this post. Kennels must have a name, and from this name is derived a prefix for the capranis' show name. This can be the initials of the kennel, shorthand, or a word. You kennel prefix is generally given to pups produced from your kennel.
Let's take the show name: Take My Hand.
For example, Blue Diamond Kennels can be shortened to BD Take My Hand.
A kennel named Meadow Kennel can just be Meadow Take My Hand or Meadow's Take My Hand.

Any new kennel gets a pair of the same breed. The breed must be common. To get a kennel you need either a website or equivalent like a Notary Office/Boarding Area post, to place your Capranis and all their stats.
Your kennel must have a place to hold info like kennel goal(if any), breeding rules for your kennel, and anything else.
Your kennel must have a place for your females and males, preferably separate. All Caprani must have all their stats.
A records section is not necessary, but recommended to keep track of the Caprani you've breed.

Breeding

       Caprani in kennels can breed almost any time. Breeding is usually flagged open. Caprani from different kennels can breed, though you will need the permission of the owner and might have to pay a stud or pup fee. They birth 2-6 pups.
       Caprani not a part of a kennel must wait for special times to breed. These are few and far between. They birth 1-3 pups.
Pups will be of breeding age adults within a week.

Showing

        Caprani love to compete. They are evaluated in three areas, Conformation, Athletics, and Temperament. On these the individual capranis are graded. From worst to best the grades are: poor, good, great, excellent. These stats are inherited.
There are two shows they can compete in.
There are breed shows for how well they conform to breed standards. Every breed has their own categories, but only one for that breed will run at a time.
And sport competition for how well they perform physically. These shows are open to all breeds and there are many of them.
Conformation matters in breed shows.
Athletics for sport competitions.
Temperament matters in both shows.

After 5 first places are won, a Capranis is given the title 'champion'. This is added to the show name before the kennel prefix. So for Meadow's Take My Hand up above, her title would change to Ch. Meadow's Take My Hand.
After 10 first places a Capranis becomes a grand champion. The title GCh. is added before the kennel name. Gch. Meadow's Take My Hand.

There are rewards for winners in shows and these vary between them.
