So... I have about $75 dollars to last me.. well, till I get a job. XD

But I seriously am dying to get my hands on a tablet. I've wanted one for over a year, since I first used the VERY OLD POS Wacom from like, the 1800's. Lol. It would motivate me to color more, I'd color Better, and mabye even commission artwork or just doodle RL portraits like I used to.

However; As stated, I have about $75 til I get a job, which, no place around here will give me the time of day :/ But I do have a $25 dollar gift card to a clothing store, so if I need clothes, then I'm set.. >.> But I need the cash more. I also have over $200 worth of stuff to sell, but no one will buy. D:

So I know what I SHOULD get is this one: http://www.amazon.com/PenPad-7-7-Inch-Graphic-Tablet-Black/dp/B003OBZRPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361298193&sr=8-1&keywords=drawing+tablet
But I cannot stand the fact that its bendable. I can't draw on a bendy surface, I need a stable tablet.

So then mabye I should get this one(Refurbished, of course): http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Bamboo-Splash-Tablet-CTL471/dp/B0089VGPII/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361298243&sr=8-2&keywords=drawing+tablet
But I want MOAR. D:

So this is the one I want: http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-CTH661-Bamboo-Fun-Tablet/dp/B002OOWC4C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361298344&sr=8-2&keywords=wacom+bamboo+fun+pen+and+touch
Used I guess, since there's no refurbished for sale at the moment.

I dunno what to do D: I just want one that will be easy to use, hard surfaced (I trust wacom), and will work well for CS3 and coloring and drawing stuffs. ;-;

Bunraku

Go for the bamboo, do not settle for less. Its what I use, and its amazing, let me tell you. The pressure sensitivity is perfect and even a refurbished one will last you, plus they are durable and won't bust as easily as other products if you happen to drop it. And let me tell you, my tablet has seen hell XD

Winged

I'd say that as far as tablets go, it's better to get a good one :) I've never used one myself though. But if you've only got a certain amount of money, should you not wait and buy the tablet once you have some way of earning money?

Winged; You would think, but I'm impatient.. XD

TheLeet

I'd get the second one if I were you. I have a bamboo pen & touch and I never use the touchpad functions so I kinda regret spending more to get the "fancier" tablet.

Obviously I can only speak for myself but I'd be perfectly happy with a pen-only tablet. :)

I also found this one. Willow has the Wacom Bamboo Fun, and this is that, but small instead of medium. Cheap, and seems okay, I'm just not sure on the size of active area. O.o
Eta: The cheapest used one, not the new one. Lol.

Thank you for the suggestion Leet! I wasn't sure what those extra buttons were for, so I'm glad someone could help me with that. :3

I'll be honest with you and say the small ones aren't very good for artists that draw or color, in my opinion they're more for people who like to do scrapbooking digitally and that sort of thing because the area is too small to draw on, but if there's anyone here who has successfully drawn with a smaller bamboo please feel free to correct me. I tested quite a few of these at staples one time, and found the small ones very lacking compaired to a medium or large.

Wildfilly94

Yeah, I figured the same; but when I talked to Willow she said she'd used that one before and it was decent. She likes her medium more, but she said she got used to the feel of the little one. I've contacted the seller of that one and the refurbished tablet (Link #2) to see what all comes with the tablet and its condition, then make my decision between those probably. :)

Daimas

I started off with a Wacom graphire 3 small I got for 60 from Ebay, worked great for a few years till I was able to save for my intuos 4. Size never mattered to me because I do have mine set for pen tracking so I am able to keep a handle on the pointer easier.
personally I still have a small even though Intuos small is a BIG leap up from Graphire small. Once you get the hang of it ANY tablet is easier to use and if the small ones are cheaper(shrugs)

Leafy

Smaller is cheaper, but if you move your hand more than the surface of a credit card when you draw, a small will not work for you. Save up more and get something that will be what you want for the long run. With Wacom especially, you are paying for quality, my Intuos 3 is priceless and switching to anything else (except for Cintiq) would be crippling x_X

Wildfilly94

Okay so I've decided on this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Bamboo-Splash-Tablet-CTL471/dp/B0089VGPII/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1361298243&sr=8-2&keywords=drawing+tablet

NOW, Should I risk the tablet not being in good condition and not having all the accessories (since the place its from wont get back to me) or go with the new one from the actual Wacom company?

$54 ish for the refurbished (this includes shipping) or $62 for the new (this includes shipping)

Bunraku

If its only $8 more dollars to get a brand new tablet (That will have a warrenty attatched...which you don't get with something refurbished I believe) I'd spring the extra for the new one, it will be worth it in the long run.

SkySong

Agreed with Bun. Think it makes sense to me. Congrats on your future tablet! I know I've been spoiled rotten by mine.

I'm going with the new one then. ^^

Got just barely the fund I need, but amazon doesn't let you use paypal to pay, so I've sent the money to my bank account and hoping it clears Friday so I can get the tablet within the next week. :3

Bunraku

Wow no paypal for amazon? O___o that's a new one, I used to pay with paypal all the time, why did they change that?

Wildfilly94

I dunno. D: I went to go pay and it asks for either a credit card, gift card, or your bank account. No paypal. :/

Wildfilly94

But, I'm signing up for the prime membership crap so I can get free 2 day shipping on it. XD Then cancelling the next day. Haha.
