That looks more like a Black Tabby of some sort, that has some white markings, possibly Bicolor
I do not see the tell tale sign that that is a tortoiseshell, looks very much tabby to me

Rav, I agree with PM, the photo looks like a chocolate tabby, to me. 'Black Tortoiseshell' is just a term used in FCFC. In the real cat world, 'tortoiseshell' is used to refer to a cat with both black and red base coat visible. If the cat ends up looking gray and cream, rather than black and reddish, that's a dilute tortoiseshell.
