Baubles

Baubles are magically infused bubbles. If kept nearby during a spawning, they affect the offspring.

- Each fish can carry one bauble to each spawning.
- Most baubles can be used together.
- No bauble magic is stronger than any other.
- Opposite baubles cancel each other out.



Perhaps the most important aspect of the spawning is the location the female chooses.

Heavenly A cut above the rest, literally. Magic swirls overhead and provides currents that fish can nestle into. Very magically potent. 100% chance of male betta* +3 offset to genetics** 75% chance of visible hybrid***

*For whatever reason, the gender of bettas is linked to magic. Greater magic results in the more flamboyant males. Bettas are thus far the only magic to gender linked type of fish.

***Types of fish can breed with other types, and the offspring are known as hybrids. Most hybrids look like one parent or the other. However, visible hybrids are strange mixes of the traits of their parents. Hybrids themselves are subject to the same chances when they are bred, their offspring can still come out looking like one type or the other, or be a visible hybrid.
