I wondered the same thing and I was told that if you and someone else do a breeding together and they donate an egg you both get a hint. Maybe that's what happened?

Interesting info!  Thanks everyone for posting your hints!  I think you're right, red, sounds like the body color mutations will act like the color genes do, where there can be more than one "2" in the string, but only the most dominant one is visible.

And with the phrase "body color mutations," we now have the mutation gene theory:

I'd take a guess that Fin Shapes can only have one gene visible at a time too.  Fin Patterns I'm not so sure on.

my breeding request list was massive.  So while it was posted before yours, I told Gene Pool they could take their time with mine.  If you peek in my folder, you'll see I still only have two eggs, one form my first breeding, and one I bought.  So yes, season is over, but more hints will come when I get my eggs

I was thinking it meant the mutations showed, but the mutations could not show color.
Unless the mutations are not physical mutations, but something like markings.

Maybe it is like a what could happen when trying to breed an albino fish?

Oooh I wonder if that is one of those side effects that happen, I think in other animals it might make them sterile?

Too tired t look uo the hint and double check, but I believe an albino is when all 0's are in any ONE of the three color spots.  So body could be all 0's, fins and eyes have numbers, but fish is classed as albino..

Where as for a glass fish, all three color spots have to have all 0's.

yes, I commisioned Silv to color myself and my son each one during the CYO.  So currrently there are two, one male one female.  And very awesome they are

You cannot use existing glass fish, they are sterile for just that reason.

Well, from YLO's recently grown #181 spawn, I think it's a definite that the 3rd section on the first string is the Fin Shape mutation area :3 (since 181's top sting is: 011000^0100^0120101 and he has a very obviously different fin shape)

Ok, 1 giant uber-hint all together.. look in the "examples" folder. The order they are in reflects dominance for all things!

Now Im out of hints Figured Id just say it rather then give you a part of it at a time, since you'd be getting all the parts all at once anyway.
