Females are allowed 1 breeding per season (Which will be, on average 2 weeks long). The limit does NOT count for outside the season breedings.
Males can be bred as many times as you wish. Breeding season or not. ^^

I plan to limit my own pets for breeding as well. I wanted to give everyone some freedom of choice during breeding, since the kitten claim amount is limited, but I personally think no more than 5 for my own boys. That would be tiresome in itself! :O But, Rats are, as I hear, extremely fertile, so it makes sense.. XD

I have a question about kittens O: If we receive one in some way, like as a breeding fee, dose that count towards our total we can keep, or is that considered to be outside of the total?

You may keep 2 kittens Per Breeding IF it was bred by you. If it was bred by someone else, you can keep as many as you wish from that breeding, if they trade them to you.
Of course, the amount you can keep for a breeding made by you if your a Registered Den, is 4, instead of two. ^^

So Say I breed my joe X kah's fiona and get 7 kittens. I'm not a registered den, so I can only keep two kittens. Kah wanted 2 kittens as a fee for fiona, so she gets two as well. I've got 3 babies left. If kah offered soemthing for them, she could keep the last three as well, since she wasn't the breeder of the litter.

Does that make sense?
