IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING CATTERIES/KENNELS

Information and requirements for Catteries/Kennels have been modified. Listed below are the current standards and requirements for Cattery/Kennel owners.



[Catteries and Kennels]

If you wish to start your own kennel or cattery you must meet the requirements ~

[Starting a Cattery/Kennel]
ᴥ Have a site or post in the notary office stating your kennel/cattery standards and terms.
ᴥ Have at least three "A" quality examples of each breed (at least one starting).
ᴥ Have proof of responsible breeding (one litter, "A" quality).
ᴥ A User may only have one Cattery and one Kennel.
ᴥ Only official cattery/kennel registered pets may have a prefix.

[Adding to a Cattery/Kennel]
ᴥ For every breed you wish to add to your kennel/cattery, you must have three "A" quality pets, and one "A" quality bred example bred by you.
ᴥ Catteries/Kennels will be checked monthly for new additions, and a link to your cattery/kennel will appear in the pet's agency information.
ᴥ Kittens/Puppies bred in a Cattery/Kennel will have a "bred by XX Cattery/Kennel" in their Agency Information.

[Shows]
ᴥ A cattery/kennel can win ribbons and points for maintaining standards through breeding, achieving goals and winning shows.
ᴥ These points may be traded in for items and new pets.

[Beds]
ᴥ A free bed will be awarded to a cattery/kennel every month.
ᴥ The free bed may only be used for currently registered cattery/kennel pets.

[Monthly Fee]
ᴥ There is a monthly fee of 10,000 SG for each cattery and kennel.
ᴥ There is an additional 10,000 SG fee for each additional breed after the first housed and bred in your Cattery/Kennel.
(i.e. Having two breeds in your Cattery would be 20K/month, or 2 cat breeds and 3 dogs breeds would be 50K/month)
ᴥ Fees are due between the 1st-5th of every month.
ᴥ You may send your payment by proxy if you are unable to do so yourself in the required time limit.
ᴥ Failure to submit the fee in a timely manner will result in no bed for the month.
ᴥ When sending fees, you MUST have the name of the Cattery/Kennel in the comments.
ᴥ The SG collected from Fees will be turned into prize money for the Quarterly Shows.



As a note, your first fee payment will start on the first of the month following your registration [i.e. if you register on August 13th, your first fee will be due September 1st, or if you register September 1st, your fee will be due on October 1st].

All current catteries will also need to adhere to the rule modifications.

So what if a Cattery/Kennel simply doesn't submit a monthly fee? Do they just get no beds, or are they not considered a Cattery/Kennel?

If the fee is not submitted on time, they will not receive a bed for the month, and for that month will not be considered an official cattery/kennel until they resume payment the following month.

However, if you're willing to pay the late fee of an added 50%, you can resume cattery/kennel status immediately (along with getting a bed immediately). This would be important for show months, as if you do not pay your cattery/kennel fees during a show month, any prizes won will only reflect you as an individual and not the cattery/kennel, as it was not active at the time.

50% would be like if you have one breed for the basic 10K, would take 15K to resume cattery/kennel status. two breeds for 20K would become 30K, and so on.

Moral of this story: Pay on time.

Eta: and 10k per breed? :/ so that means if I want to collect pets and manage to get one of every breed, I'll be spending over 100k a month? Or am I misunderstanding?
Do we get a bed per breed? (so if want two breeds in my kennel or cattery could I get two beds?

I might be seeing this wrong but in my eyes this is discouraging to own multiple breeds.

Neo as i understand it, you can choose breeds to be part of your kennel/cettery and the other pets you have are not in your kennel/cattery. But i'm not sure myself.
And i agree with the others, 10k each month seems a bit steep, that really would build up each month and for those who don't own an adoptable of their own they might not be able to get the SG in.

With the combination of playing SMIS, opening the counsil door, and collecting your daily SG, it should be enough for at least the basic 10K monthly fee of one breed. The daily SG itself will garner a minimum of 4500 SG per month, and I know the counsil door regularly hands out 500-1,000+ SG when you catch a halfway decent answer.

Also the shows will have good SG prizes available for you to win, considering all the money from fees goes to the prize pool for the Quarterly Shows!

Owning a Cattery/Kennel is an optional way for people to continue to enjoy FCFC, in addition to the normal games, breedings, and shows. We would like people to care about the standards  of owning a quality Cattery/Kennel, and not just using it for a free ride to kittens/puppies every month.

You can still collect every breed of cat and dog, this may just make you more specialized in your Cattery/Kennel. With the old rules of FCFC, you were limited to 3 breeds in a cattery/kennel, whereas here, so long as you can pay the fee, can have ALL breeds in your Cattery/Kennel. We want people to really think about what goes into a Cattery/Kennel, and not just set one up willy-nilly because "yay free stuff".



@Neo, We will allow advance payments for catteries/Kennels. Just remember that if you add a breed, you'll need to pay the fee for the new breed as well :3

Yeah. We're not trying to wring every last penny out of you guys. If you think about it in yearly terms:
At its minimum, 120K = 24-36 kittens/puppies. That's a lot!

We also discussed it, and if you decide you want to house 4 breeds or more in a single cattery or kennel (not combined), you can get 2 beds each month instead of just one (it's a lot extra for the second bed, yes, but it's also a privilege to get two breedings a month instead of just one :3)

EDT: You also get your first Bed for free, without paying the fee. If you're really desperate for SG, you can sell the kittens/puppies from that first bed for extra SG to maintain the Cattery/Kennel

I plan to give away a regular out of season breeding bed today! Will give 2-3 babies, can be used on any pet, one use only.


I was thinking of having a small battleship-esque game.
The bed will randomly move from box to box, USRs get to guess a co-ordinate (eg - A3), and if they find the bed they'll win it. There will also be some pet prizes.
Would people enjoy that type of game? I don't see them done very often.
