Does anybody have any idea for a name for this new breed? They were inspired by Quarter Horses, but that seems a little too specific compared to "Pony," "Gaited," etc. I need the Quarter Horse equivalent of Tennessee Walker -> Gaited.

Whoever makes the best suggestion will get a semi-custom of the new breed

You could call them "Sprint" Horses or "Sprinters"

ETA: this is why I chose this:

Great sprinting speed over short distances; short, refined head; strong, well-muscled body, featuring a broad chest and powerful, rounded hindquarters

According to Wiki, the Quarter Horse is basically your best all-around horse that's good at everything! Maybe call 'em "Workers" or "Working Horses"?

Um, well, I tend to equate Quarter Horses with cowboys and the western style of riding, so perhaps "Western Horse".

Just wanted to pop in and say I like the suggestion of "Sprinters".

I say "Lopers"... or maybe "Racers". I think "Racers" would work as in barrel racing or as in herding cattle or something (despite QHs being an all around horse) as Quarter Horses are fairly well-known for Western disciplines (I have ridden one who was trained in English, but she still did a jogging gait and it took more leg to get her to a trot). Plus, the poses look like they are galloping around barrels.

I didn't second that because I thought there was another W breed in the works, but that was of course the breed that we now call Gaited.

So yea, I would go with either Western or Sprinter(s).
