I also remember you saying you would probably get rid of the one-wrong-means-nothing part, is that final yet? It isn't on the website, but I wanted to ask before breeding my horses. Otherwise I may wanna name less phenotypes to make sure I don't end up with 0 points.

And I am going to remove the "all or none" clause, but will still have some negative points associated with a wrong guess (maybe right = +1 and wrong = -1?). I'm not totally sure yet, really. What does everyone else think is fair? I don't want to be too unyielding, but I don't want everyone to get massive amounts of points really easily, either...

Palomino leopard appaloosa. So you get 1 goal breeding point with the current system I'm using (palomino + 1, roan - 1, appaloosa +1) -- just keep a record of this for now, I may overhaul this weekend).

Appaloosa genetics have been updated. NN now is snowflake appaloosa. Nn is still blanket and nn is still leopard. Check website for more info.

Goal Breeding
I've updated the clause: "Be careful, though. For every incorrect piece of the phenotype you mention, you will counteract one correct piece of the phenotype. For instance, getting two correct phentotypes and one incorrect phenotype will result in the same amount of point as getting one correct phenotype. Not that you will never get negative points."

(1 correct + 1 incorrect)

This little table might help you.

That one doesn't show gray, but basically if a horse has GG or Gg (two dominant alleles, or one) than it will gray with age.  It may start out bay, black, chestnut, palomino, any colour and end up gray.  Since most horses in The Stable are starting out as adults, you won't be able to tell what you've got underneath until you breed.  If a horse has gg in the gray spot, it won't gray with age.

So if you have one gray horse and one non gray you could have these options

GG + gg
100% Gg (so will gray with age)

Gg + gg

Gg - 50% (gray with age)
gg - 50% (won't gray)

That is correct And you essentially can't tell, unless you breed the horse a few times with some different mates. By looking at the foals' genes and the other parents' genes, you can tell what is under the grey. I keep trying to show long examples but am too tired and can't make it work x_X

Maybe I'll just say that you should avoid masking genes if you want to seriously goal breed? Because, honestly, it's hard. But the genetics are what make these guys really special and fun, IMO

I've requested customs of Amnesia on gaia several times and people always said they couldn't really do her justice. You made her absolutely perfect. Thank you so much <3

However, I am not too fond of the new system.
Old system:
If you mention one correct phenotype: 3 points (owner), 2 points (foal)
If you mention two correct phenotypes: 6 points (owner), 3 points (foal)
If you mention three correct phenotypes: 10 points (owner), 5 points (foal)

New system would give you 3 or 4 points if you're lucky enough to pick a combination that can give such a detailed outcome and get all of them right as well. I think the more realistic outcome will be 1 or 2 points almost all the time. So I don't think that's really fair. I do get the point of trying to stop people from getting lots and lots of points, so maybe you should just give 1 point for each correct phenotype and say you can't get guess more than 4 phenotypes? I think that would work a lot better.

Foal #213 and #214 were swapped between luv and me, so I know own #213. He had 2 points and those are now reduced to 0, I'm a little bummed about that. And I don't get why both of my foals have 2 points and luv's foal has 0. If you'd use your new system mine should have 1 and luv's should have 0, if you'd use the system I suggested mine would have 2 and hers would have 1.

@Dunkel: if you're in doubt about your new foal I would suggest waiting until it grows, then decide if you wanna keep or trade him. I personally find it a lot easier to figure out if a horse would make a good addition to my stable when I've seen the grown up version.
