I  tried editing the male squirrel image in GIMP, but I'm having trouble with getting my new layer to work with the lines without a hitch.  I'll just see if I can get you to tutor me later.

I dont get how to colour these in gimp, because i colour over the lines :/

in gimp just make a new layer *under* the lines layer and color there new layer icon is under layers toolbar on right (unless youve moved/closed that) and looks like a peice of paper.

Will CYO Cry Babies be able to pass on their unique coloring when bred?
Same for the phrase customs, I have two of those but they are both female and I should try coloring a male for them ^^

They wont pass on thier unique markings, but will pass on anything I "code" those markings as. Example, nyteshade will be coded as zigzag and rainbow, while Rose will coded as a light dapple.
