Colibri Breeding Grounds

Away from the bustling market, a cluster of trees span out, flowers decorating the grounds below. Here, several small, brightly colored birds flit about, dipping their long beaks into the flowers. Why, it's the Colibri breeding grounds! While it's not quite yet the breeding season, the Colbri are beginning to eye each other curiously as the time for breeding comes around the corner.

Please keep in mind that females may breed only once, and males only twice. Without a Silk Tree, you may only claim one of your own eggs, and one of your friend's. Once you've decided on a breeding pair, please post it using the forms below. In order for the egg(s) the pair produces to be considered yours, you must be the one owning the silk. Whether you own either of the Colibri, however, is of no consequence. The amount of eggs each breeding will recieve will be released starting the 1st, and ending the 11th. You may no longer submit breeding forms after the 10th of September.

Also, trading will be available during this time. If you wish to rename a Colibri, just simply submit a trading form with a blank for the other user, or your name instead. If you are trading a Colibri to someone else and they want a new name, please decide on a name before submitting a form. Trading will be open till the 10th. You may also trade items.

Items: you may use as many items as you want, although it is not recommended that you use a Multi Colored Butterfly Bush with either of the other Butterfly Bushes. Also, if you use a Red Columbine with a Delphinium, the effects will be negated. It is then advised that you do not use both at the same time. Silk Trees will be used once the eggs will hatch.

The amount of eggs a certain breeding will produce will depend on two things. One, the Spider Silk used, and two, how inbred an egg is. Since this is the first breeding season, the inbreeding factor will not particularly matter, but I'll post it anyways. First, the maximum amount of eggs is three. The chance of a Normal Spider Silk to produce three eggs is 15%, 50% for two, and 125% for one. With Fine Spider Silk the chance for one egg is 0%, 100% for two, and 30% for three. Inbreeding works as thus. Breeding into direct family (brother x sister, daughter x father, mother x son, etc) results in a 50% decrease, meaning a Normal Spider Silk is given a 75% chance of having one egg, or none at all. Fine Spider Silk will produce either one or two eggs at a 50% chance. The more distantly related, the less the decrease.

Twins and Triplets:
With Normal Spider Silk, there is a 10% chance for twins, and a 5% chance for twins. Obviously, if the breeding results in only one egg, there will be neither twins or triplets. Fine Spider Silk results in a 15% chance for twins, and 10% for triplets.

I also decided to ditch the hatching thing I had drawn up, so it goes straight from egg to adult. I do, however, have eggs so you can at least see how many you got. Can't tell if they're twins or not, though. xD If you want to throw a random one, go ahead. Breedings are a bit more challenging with no templates, but they're good practice, and can be pretty fun.

I knew I don't have enought silk trees, and I'm not a hundred percent sure how things work... but if we're allowed to gift ones we can't claim to non-owners, or others with silk trees, I thought that's what I might do.

Well, what I'm planning on doing is once everything's up and hatched, people will have a certain time to claim the ones they want, and trade/give away (whatever) the ones they wish to. Any that happen to not be claimed will go back to me (or whoever colored, depending) for me to figure out what I want to do with them.

Well, keep in mind that you can only claim one of your own without a tree. So unless you get more trees, you can only claim ten of the ones you've bred as of now.
