Whitesmoke? CRAP a trojan!

I accidently managed to click a flash banner and it instantly started downloading a program called white smoke. When I tried to cancel it it wouldnt, I figured no biggie I'll just pull it off as soon as it downloads..didnt work. Looked it up and its a trojan virus. I went to run my anti-virus and its expired so now I'm trying to download both AVG & malware bytes however I'm reading that its almost impossible to get rid of. Has anyone had to deal with this virius?

eeew. You're going to need to find the folder your downloads go to and delete it from there, as well as do a search for it on your harddrive and delete it wherever you find it after your run your antivirus. After that, go download an adblocker :\ And don't use Internet Explorer. Download Firefox, there's an attachment for it called adblock plus that works extremely well for everything Firefox blocks default.

I haven't specifically heard of Whitesmoke but try Maleware Bytes and see what it finds. I've yet to get inot trouble that Maleware Bytes couldn't get me out of.

I downloaded malware last night just to see if it'd work sense the virus was in its early stage (as in it was just causing some issues with WoW when I accidently clicked off it'd come up) Needless it had attached itself to I have no clue how many files and thankfully malware removed it quick and swift lol.

I think I'll be purchasing malware and a newer verison of a better anti virus soon
