My grandfather passed away last night.  He'd been on dialysis for a few years, but this was still very unexpected.  I'll be out of town Saturday and Sunday to attend the funeral, but I'm worried now about my grandmother.  (My aunt, her daughter, lives nearby, and she's in a retirement community where many of her friends are also living, but her health isn't all that good either, so... yeah.)

Update - I will be back in town late Monday evening, since the funeral is on Mon morning. Just thought I would let you all know

I'm back in town, and glad I was able to be there with my grandmother and the rest of the extended family (and friends).  There were lots of tears, but also lots of laughter as we shared each others' grief and our memories of Grandpa.  I still miss him, but this event helped me remember that I am far from the only one and that life still goes on.

Thank you to everyone on Secundi who has offered their sympathies.  It helps to know I have friends like you guys, too.
