horses either have a black or red base. red is chestnut, everything else has a black base. so brown is a black base with brown agouti ^^

Oh man i didnt mean it like that lol heres a better question

Is a brown silver dapple a brown horse with the silver dapple gene? as in if i bred a brown silver dapple to a palomino could i end up with a sooty buckskin?

Yeah, silver dapple doesn't completely override the base coat coloration, it just modifies it to include the silvering. The horse is still bay, brown, or black.

I imagine brown silver dapple x palomino could produce sooty buckskin. Just be aware that the foal could also be a sooty buckskin with silver dapples. =)

No longer has zombie eyeballs. May still have a craving for brains, as there's no intelligence or sanity left in hers. XD

Sooty buckskin is brown with the creme gene, so yes, a brown silver dapple could produce sooty buckskin when bred with a palomino.  However, a combination even more likely to produce sooty buckskin would be brown with smoky cream (smoky cream is black with two cream genes, and brown is dominant to black)
