Though not right now, next year after I graduate my college.^^ I'm still figuring out the minor details, okay well actually a lot of stuff.lol But things are getting done and we already have a lot of stuff for our home packed away. We're planning on having a small wedding, since we'd rather not go in the hole for our wedding.lol

Does anyone have any advice for me? Like things to same money on or anything else?

aww congrats hiyoko! :D *squishes* i got no advice since i'm barely a teen, but i do think it's a smart idea to stick with a small wedding. my own parents spent $36 on their wedding (just buying the certificate) and they've been married over 25 years now

Congrats, hiyoko! I've been married for almost two years now, but I still remember my day fondly, even though we were married practically wearing t-shirts and jeans. XD I hope your special day is as nice as ours was. =D

Like Red's parents and my own actually, my husband and I also went down the route of wedding certificate with no ceremony. We're planning on possibly renewing our vows on our anniversary this month, and we'll also be getting professional studio photos taken on my mother's request, because she was a little miffed she had nothing to share with the rest of the family. XD

Even if you decide to take the simple courthouse marriage approach, it can still be very romantic (I cried during our vows actually), and there's certainly nothing stopping you from having a fancy ceremony when you two are on stable footing financially. I've heard that can be better in the long run so you're not stressing about paying back the debts from a large wedding party when you should be enjoying your new married life.

My only advice if you decide on that route is to get your certificates well before the day of the event. I saw more than one stressed out couple rushing through that process and it can't be a good way to start off a special day.

No longer has zombie eyeballs. May still have a craving for brains, as there's no intelligence or sanity left in hers. XD

Depending on the state/county, you may have to get the license in advance (and some are only good for a certain amount of time - meaning you have to get married within that time frame, of course, not that the marriage is only good that long >.>  yes, I am certain people have made this mistake XD)

My husband and I got married in Monterey, CA, a slight step above the courthouse marriage.  There was this little wedding chapel, and we had his brother and sister-in-law, and my friend with us, and we wore "decent" clothes (nice slacks and a buttoned shirt for him, a summery dress for me... even if it did end up making me look fat in the pics XD)  Several members of my family still haven't forgiven me for not having a real wedding and inviting them...

Our fifth anniversary was in July :)  Someday, I would like to actually have a fancy ceremony somewhere, but mostly just so I can dress up in the fancy dress XD

Thanks everyone!  :)

Well we are getting married in a church (either his or mine, I don't care.lol) and I need to look into getting a marriage cert sometime before the wedding, as we are also in Cali.>.> Not sure on a budget just yet, as I'm not even sure how many people are going to be in the wedding party (we're told we have to have our siblings in it, so his younger bro and sis and my older bro and sis).

I'm kinda leaning on early to mid Aug. :) I've done a rough draft of my vows today, since I got my hmwk done and my fiancée is working until Friday morning (he's an EMT). Plus I'm just so excited, he's a really great guy and he cares about me so much. ;D

Congratulations :D

I hope you'll have a lovely wedding. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice for you but I wish you good luck. I'm still trying to overcome my fear of getting married lol XD
