I have a question about guessing specific types of overo or appy and the points it earns you? So for example I guess black snowflake appaloosa. Now I assume if the actual foal is black blanket appaloosa I get 2 right, 1 wrong because I have black and appy right, but the appaloosa pattern isn't snowflake but blanket. Now what if I would guess black snowflake appaloosa and the foal actually becomes a black snowflake appaloosa, would that count as 3 correct guesses or still only 2?

(From the breeding guessing game back on TheKennel forums I think I remember it would mean 3 out of 3 right, but I wanna make sure)

I'd read a guess of, say, chestnut frame overo as "chestnut" +/-1, "frame" +/-1, and "overo" +/-1. So your black snowflake appaloosa example would count as 3 correct guesses

YLO, I've always considered "cream" and "double cream" both one point. The reason being that if you guessed "perlino," which is pretty specific, you'd only even get one point; "double cream" is less specific, so I don't think it should be worth more. If that makes sense

It would become too easy to get 3 correct guesses otherwise, so this seems right

And yeah, I thought cream was a bit more safe than guessing perlino, because depending on the agouti they could possibly throw me smokey cream as well (although a lot less likely, in theory it should be possible depending on what they hide).

You could also have gotten cremello, depending on what that dominant E gene is hiding.

I just did a search for "smoky black dun," and actually found one on the first page

So yes, dun certainly visibly modifies smoky black. Roan would also lighten a smoky black coat, I assume still with a blue tint.

Tobiano would typically cover leg barring, but I could probably make some peek out for a custom.
