Of course! And hopefully my brain stops skipping and falling asleep on me. If it sleeps, I wanna be sleeping too. XD

Maybe I need some more green tea... *ponders*

Writing contest.

To win you need to write a couple paragraphs telling which you would keep and why, and who you would gift the other two to (two different people) and why those people deserve them.

Prizes:
Your choice of

Each of the people who you write about gifting will get the ones that you wrote about them getting. The winner will also get a semi custom. :)

Start: Now

Ends: June 20th, 2010 2:30:00 Secundi time. Just to give people lots of time.

Keilin Alyr

I'll need quite a bit of time for brainstorming. Sounds like a fun contest though! And well worth it for those lovelies and our friends. =)

SeaCrest

I would keep the male, because he looks like he's facing the moon and I love the meeting of green, black, and white near his eye. I also think that he might make a good mate for Annabelle (since I also have a Snowflake...XD). Black and white are an awesome combo, and i just love bright green eyes. For some reason I just don't like the female as much - probably because of the white face...I'm not sure. But The baby is just a little too much white all together for me XD.

The female I would give to Victoria for being so willing to learn the way of Secundi (XD Almost spelled it Secondi LOL) and being such an optimist. Victoria is also new and deserves rewards for asking so many questions to get answers, and also for teaching her friends about Secundi too so that there weren't duplicate threads. And the forever baby would go to red_uni387 for all her hard work in trying to get the Fallen Shadows up and running and the wait she'll have to endure because the artist needs a little time to themself to sort things out. Red has been an awesome friend and is always willing to give me pointers, from the very start.

I totally think there are a whole load of other people deserving of these beauties, and I wish that I could give every one of my friends one! But unless we cut them up (O_O), there's no way we could do that...SeaCrest out!

Haha that's happened to me before XD You totally deserve one for being so generous! There's always tomorrow, huh?

Keilin Alyr

Please forgive me in advance. I tend to ramble and pretend I'm artistic or something when I'm tired, so this all reads like either a poetry assignment, a random speech, or something out of one of my freewriting journals. Either way, not cool. XD

First off, I have to agree with SeaCrest; these Pecora do look like they have been staring at the moon. Maybe they've been gazing at it so long that its light forever reflects off their dark fur. That's how they acquired their points. Moon points.

Wow, I'm too sentimental this late.

As for who I'd keep, it'd have to be the adult female. I like the bold contrast of her mask as she stares forward, like she's ready to take on any challenge in front of her. To continue my sentimental little tale, I imagine she's grown bored gazing at the moon with her family. She'd like to meet new friends, see new sights, and I'd love to see her paired with Rainbow Road or Coldsnap. Can't imagine what they'd talk about though...

Coldsnap: You see, Keilin likes to pretend I was named after the weather. A cold, snowy spring. She won't admit I was named after a Magic the Gathering card set.
Rainbow Road: I'm named and patterned after this wickedly difficult race course in the latest Mario Kart game. Keilin says it's very pretty, but I hear she won't try and race it.
Moon Point Lady: I... see.
Coldsnap: We've been trying to figure out how to make Rainbow Road even more insane just to imagine the look on Keilin's face. You could maybe brainstorm with us?
Rainbow Road: And your points are quite lovely, my dear...
*Coldsnap and Rainbow Road stare at each other*
Coldsnap: The moon! Oh wow, can you imagine driving around in prismatic lunar dust in zero gravity, avoiding massive craters? Keilin would completely freak out!
Moon Point Lady: *backs away slowly*

Okay, that probably would be a bit awkward, but I hope she'd adapt to our quirky little group and my dorkish ways. XD Moving right along, I'd like to focus on the male, still gazing lovingly at the moon. Maybe he's still intent on the secrets the moon hides. Maybe he's reflecting on good times spent with friends or times he's been happily busy. Regardless, he's not quite here with us. =)

I hope SeaCrest understands I mean everything with friendly intent and all good cheer. I'd gift him to her. These past major contests went by quickly, and while I had a blast participating, I felt bad seeing SeaCrest's entries show up past the deadline times. Makes me glad she could start off this contest actually. =) Odd timing and balancing other priorities can be obnoxious, but it shouldn't mean she should only have one or two Pecora as a result. I also agree, he'd make an awesome pair with Annabelle. Points and stripes would look spiffy. =D

Lastly, the little forever baby. They're young and new to these parts, but they've explored and charted so much of their old home. They lost track of time gazing at the moon, but they were excited to hear about Secundi and can't wait to explore again. But who to go home with?

Just like me, someone I know is a veteran to adopting cyberpets but very new to Secundi. I also stopped adopting for a few years, but nostalgia brought me back. So I'd like to gift the little one to Jojo, who I like to consider my veteran-turned-newbie partner in crime. Or at least a buddy. XD Even though I expect Jojo to learn the ropes quickly, I hope the little one can serve as a symbol of the good times while just starting out. =)

Ooh they are gorgeous! I especially love the second Franken and the set Goddesss got ^^

Echowing

Ehehehe....soooo. I wrote a horribly ridiculously long story for the contest. 1128 words. *hides* right... Sorry about this, once I started writing it I had to keep going and I just couldn't seem to find a stopping place. Anyway, please enjoy if you read it all x.x

PECORA ORIGINS

In the bleak ever-winter of the south pole there was a lot of nothing. Wait, no. There was something. Snow. Lots and lots of snow. But that was it. At least until the Pecora tribe showed up. They were a tribe of people who had been flushed out of their home by invaders and had taken to sea. They drifted for many days, fishing for food so that they would survive. Eventually it became so cold as they traveled that they passed floes of ice and their limbs had begun to freeze. The tribe believed they would die at sea. With desperation they made sealskin blankets and suits and held on throughout the bitter ice and wind. In the middle of a calm night with a brightly waxing moon the scout, there was always one awake to watch for land, gave a shout. She had seen land. Well, what would pass for land. It was ice but solid ground. What they had found their way to was a frozen world of their own. Any other people would see a land of ice and snow as a death sentence, but not the Pecora. They built the first igloos and the seas were their hunting grounds. But something was lacking. The little children that had made the trip had left behind their beloved pets when the tribe fled. They needed companionship that the adults could not give them while working to build a village. There was one small family in the tribe, a father and daughter. The father knew his little girl was heartbroken from leaving her pet fawn at their home when they ran. He did his best to make her happy and one day decided to make her a toy. At a loss for awhile as to what he would make it out of he finally decided upon the most abundant thing around: ice. He took great care and carved a little fawn from a block of ice using his seal bone knife. Putting great detail into its glittering eyes and tufts of fur, the fawn began to look very life-like. When he was finished he took it to his young daughter and told her to take care of it and love it always and it would do so for her as well. The little girl loved it immensely and took it everywhere and even began talking to it. Every once in awhile out of the corner of her eye it seemed the little fawn's eyes would blink or maybe the ice fur would rustle but she knew that wasn't possible. Some days it even seemed to her that the fawn was growing larger or it's nubby horns longer. As this was happening, the father was working hard in the village. On a day with lightly falling snow he was assigned ice duty, that is, waiting on the ice sheets watching the fishing hole. It was a dangerous job that only brave men and women undertook but the girl's father was a good man and would do anything for his people. It was not a good day to go out alone. As the father wandered out of the village to the ice sheets at the edge of the ocean the snow began to fall harder and harder. He realized it was the beginning of a snowstorm and tried to turn back but he couldn't see the village anymore. He tried to find his way but became hopelessly lost. Back at the village, the little girl was told of her father's duty and that he hadn't made it back before the storm started. The girl knew that this meant certain death and began to sob, clutching her arms around the neck of her ice fawn. With every tear she shed the ice on the fawn melted until before the girl even realized it her face was buried in the soft warm neck fur of a real fawn. She gasped and jumped back looking at what her toy had become. It seemed that in the ice, the little deer had indeed been growing, as it looked older than the form her father had given her. Its fur was pure white, without a single flaw, and its eyes, horns, and hooves were a deep ocean blue. The deer gazed at the girl and suddenly her father's words came to mind: that the fawn would love and protect her. She thought long and hard and decided it was worth risking death if she could find her father and she would have a better chance with the fawn to protect her. She put on every bit of clothing and fur she could find, put one arm over the shoulders of her fawn, took a deep breath, and stepped outside. It was the worst night of her life. She wandered with her eyes closed, following the insistent pull of the small deer. Many times she felt like she would collapse and lose to the ice but the fawn would turn and look her in the eye with a pleading look and she couldn't bear the thought of leaving him by himself and so would raise herself and trudge on. Finally she stumbled over a mound of snow, uncovering a bit of fur. Her heart leapt into her throat and she shoveled the snow off her fathers cold body with her hands. She feared the worst and began to cry but she soon heard in a whisper her father's voice consoling her. She looked down in his eyes, hugged him, and began covering him with any extra furs she could spare. The girl, her father, and her little fawn waited out the storm that night and into the next day. When it began to clear, the fawn led them back into the grieving village who had thought that they had lost both the man and his little girl. There was rejoicing and marveling over their survival and the miracle of the little fawn. Eventually this led to a yearly festival and celebration where the villagers carved little deer out of ice in remembrance. At the first of these festivals the original fawn observed the ice statues. He looked at each and seemed to choose three that he most approved of. When he had decided on them, he touched his forehead to that of each of the statues' and it seemed that a light shone through them for a moment. The next morning, standing in the place of the three ice fawns were three very real animals. The villagers were astonished. This tradition continued and the ice deer multiplied. They became an essential part of the tribe and an equal part of them and so came to carry their name as well: the Pecora.

Ahaha... yes. very sorry about the length but hope you like it.

I would keep the female. I think she is lovely with her fade going up her ears, and down her legs. Her bright green eyes are hypnotizing, as if she had been staring too long at the moon. She should come with me, we'd talk for hours about our adventures we've both had. We'd then go on our own adventures. The sky is the limit. No, it's not. We may travel to the moon and back, just to say we had.

I'd say my friend, PonyMama, diserves the baby. She is a great friend and helped me get started on secundi. She helps me with Chopsticks, my own adoptable, and she is just a great girl. She struggles with two girls and a man who won't commit, and she struggles with it all, but she comes online and is still a great person ready to make people smile. It is amazing she can balance all that.

I'd say Silvanon diserves the male. Silvanon is a great girl and she is amazing with her talents in art and her abilities with coding websites. She helps run this fantastic site, and I think this site has truly been a stress reliever for me. It's like a home away from home. A place to chat and have fun out of the real world. I really apprichiate this site, and I think she diserves the male.

Secundi time Victoria. The clock in the upper right corner doesn't use AM and PM.
In which case it actually ended hours ago..

Victoria

But she said 6:30 Secundi time which meant 6:30 pm!

In your case then Echowing can't enter the contest. :/

nooo.. 6:30 secundi time means when the clock/posted time reads 06:30. 6:30 PM would be 18:30. Notice that the contest post was made at June 19, 2010, 22:26:42. I dont know how or why you think the words "secundi time" mean PM. PM means anything after 12:00 and before 23:59

And, if you look, she specifies very clearly what time it ends...
QuoteEnds: June 20th, 2010 2:30:00 Secundi time.

Im not sure how you got 6:30 out of that anyway?

Echowing

Umm... I entered the back story contest not the three paragraph thingy. The back story one ends on the 23rd right? That's what it says on the front page.

"Ends June 23,2010 00:00 (just over a week to write)"

YourLoveOnly

Indeed, Echo's entry for the back story contest counts.

Neo's entry for the writing contest doesn't.

PonyMama

We generally go by the clock in the corner (secundi time) becasue no two people live in the same town, and most live all over the world, meaning your 6:30 pm will be different from mine, and mine will be different from YLO's.  So to make it fair and easy to figure out for all of us, we all go by the clock in the upper right corner for events.  That way there is no question when things are done, you just have to look and know that everyone around the world is going to know it ends at the same time.

Ok, those three pretties are going to SeaCrest, Victoria, and red_uni. Congratulations! Names, owners, and images to me, also a gender for that baby. And a semi custom form to me SeaCrest. :)

I also have two more sets that I am going to be giving out

And

So we need some longer running events, since I am going back home today, to give these guys away. Any suggestions?

Congrats, SeaCrest! =)

And more lovely families! I'm afraid my brain is mostly fried from staying up all night writing, so I'm not sure I have any good ideas to consider.

Maybe another photo contest? Find a series of things that are the same color or in the theme of these families? *ponders* I could really fry what's left of my brain cells and send my muse packing for a vacation. How about a writing contest? Like plot and characters and all. XD

Neocridders

I think a raffle forone and a pick a number and winner is closest for the other? Like 1 - 100

Victoria

Or what Neo said until we get the right/exact number 1-100 that is going to take forever lol! :D

toffeeca

Ok, here we go.

Photo challenge!

Your task, if you choose to accept, is to go and find as many of the items on the list as you can and photograph them. These items can be interpreted in different way, for example, a dog could be a real dog, a toy dog, a dog statue, a tree that looks like a dog, or something else that your imagination comes up with. These items can all be in a single picture or they can each have their own picture.

The list:
Paint brush
Coffee beans
Orchid
Snowman
Stop light
Broken glass
Person
Wild animal
Mice
Movie

You must include at least seven of these items.
All items must have some sort of red/yellow/orange on them.

The rules:
-These must be your own pictures. You must have either a box of tissues in each photograph or a paper with your user name on it to prove that you did take the picture.
-Must be appropriate (I always feel that I need to say this one just in case, altthough I trust everyone knows this)
-This is judged on creativity, humor, and overall how the pictures fit together (if they are in seperate pictures, I am looking for more than just a picture of a water bottle, BE CREATIVE)
-If real animals are used, please do not cause them any harm to get a picture (thats just common sense)
-Please post photo challenge in red above your entry.

Prizes:
You may choose to keep all, one, or two of them. If you only keep one and gift the other two then you also will receive a semi custom. Please let me know after your entry which you are keeping and who, if anyone, the others are going to.

Writing contest
You are to write a short story about how these Pecora know, or don't know, each other. How did they come to meet each other? What are they doing now?

The rules:
-Must be appropriate (I always feel that I need to say this one just in case, altthough I trust everyone knows this)
-This is judged on creativity and how well the story makes sense.
-Please post Writing contest in blue above your entry.

Prizes:
You may choose to keep all, one, or two of them. If you only keep one and gift the other two then you also will receive a semi custom. Please let me know after your entry which you are keeping and who, if anyone, the others are going to.

Pick a number
Pick a number 1-100. You may only post a number once. If no one guesses it I may occasionally allow for second/third/etc guesses. Post your number guess in green.

Prize:

Raffle
Each ticket costs 1 SG. You can buy as many as you would like. You can gift to whoever you would like and however many you would like. Just post in the subject of the funds who it is for and how many tickets. If gifting please send in separate transactions

Prizes:
A full custom
A semi custom
A breeding snowflake of your choice

More prizes will be added for every 50,000 tickets bought. I will have a list of tickets on the front page. Please do not get upset if it is not updated right away.

EDIT: Changed to 50,000

All contests start now and end June 23st 15:00:00 Secundi time (not AM or PM, Secundi time, just so we can be clear) That gives everyone just over three days to get these in.

Keilin Alyr

1-100 isn't that big a range actually, especially since most pick-a-numbers allow for multiple guesses after a certain amount of time has passed.

I once participated in a pick-a-number event for a really popular adoptable where the range was something like 1-100,000 or 1-500,000. Of course, half the fun of that thread was talking about insane stuff and losing track of which numbers had been guessed. =)

Heh, I'm a bit amused by "broken glass" in the photo challenge list. My car's been broken into and had windows broken so often there's still shards of glass inside it, even though it's been vacuumed multiple times. It's all bluish though. XD

For the pick-a-number should we should wait to post our second and later guesses until you get back from your drive?

I don't mind coloring more prizes, don't worry about that at all. (plus snowflakes are already colored >.>) Only one guess unless I say that people can choose more than one. and there is no need to post about getting tickets, I find it easier to use the funds to write the list out. :)

well I can help you color if you would like some help. =)

Same here  ;D

Apparently I way under estimated how much people like Pecora. I had to change the 5,000 to 50,000. Since at 5,000 I would need to do about 200 more prizes. There will still be 20 more added as of right now though. I hope no one is too upset. I will for sure be having some more flat sales too. And I plan to start allowing breedings too. That's good right?
No one kill me please.

Hey, no one's gonna fault you for not wanting to color 200 Pecora or distribute 200 snowflakes at once, Toffee. Just the idea of running so many at once makes my head hurt. XD

Writing Contest

A small Pecora was running around one day. He was running all over town for his friends. Where was everyone? How could everyone be missing right now?
He ran up and down the streets. He looked in all of his hiding places and here and there and yonder. Where were his playmates? He finally gave up and went home.
"Looks like you two are the only pecora in town today. It must be some holiday. Too bad we didn't hear about it in time," he says.
In the corner were two larger shapes. They were tied up and struggling. They sat in chairs at a tiny table with a plate of cookies and cups of imaginary tea.
"So, what would you like to do today?" the little pecora asked two larger, tied up pecora.
"MMHPHPPHHh!!!" they both tried to say. Their mouths were covered.

"Oooh, let's play house today!" the little pecora said.
"Nooopphhmm! NooooppmmhhhHmm!!" Tey both tried to scream.
So the playmates played. All day. It was a ton of fun. TON of fun.\

>.> I'm sorry... it makes sense sortof, right? The two larger pecora are the two other ones.
