Dr. Kayesh is, per usual, in his lab, checking things under microscopes and staring thoughtfully at flasks and other items that litter the desks and countertops of the large room.  He doesn't immediately notice you, but, when he does, he waves you in with the hint of a smile. 

"Welcome, welcome.  I hope you are doing well.  I know this is short notice, but I've got some potions and things to try out and I'm willing to pass them on to you for just a bit of your time."  He leads you to a desk that's amazingly clear but for some paper and a few pens.  "If you could fill this out, I'd be willing to let you grab a potion from that crate."  He gestures to a near crate with a small assortment of bottles apparent. 

A glance at the paper reveals the following questions:

1. Please list at least three (3) traits you would be interested in seeing:

As soon as you finish, Dr. Kayesh thanks you and lets you grab one of the bottles from the box.  There seems to be three choices:

4. Should there be a specific number of items used on a blobbie to cause a stage change? How about items that have a percentage of chance? The ones with a lower percentage are cheaper. The highest being 100% being the most expensive.

Please list at least three (3) traits you would be interested in seeing: Definitely wings of some kind *o* (like cute little blobby wings >w< ), Shape Changer (to cause them to be bipedal, quadraped, tailed, aquatic, things like that), Elements (adding like a fire/lava element, water, metal, all sorts of things), Odd mutations (like being two headed, or having 5 limbs, and other weird things >w> )
2. What would be a fair price for unknown items? I think random pricing would be good (since we don't know what it is, we're taking a chance) The price shouldn't be influenced by how much it changes the creature (that way it's possible for something expensive to have a small change, or something inexpensive have a huge change, it's all the fun of randomness 8D)
3. What would be a fair price for known items? This I think, should be influenced based on how much it changes your creature.
4. Should there be a specific number of items used on a blobbie to cause a stage change? I think it should depend on the amount of influence it has on changing the creature. You could say, like, 3 items will change a creature, but some items would be worth "2" and even others "3", or something like that :3
5. Should there be an item available to force a stage change? I think so, but it should be either horribly expensive, or special event give-away only :3
6. Would you mind someone other than Dr. Kayesh taking care of item sales/records? Not at all, all good doctors need an assistant =w=b
7. Any other comments or suggestions? I really like this adopty, I just wish I had more time to RP >w< /always busy

I'd like to see animal-like traits such as bird wings, bat wings, insect/butterfly wings, different types of tails (long, bobbed, etc.), different ears (short, long, hanging down, etc.), different marking patterns such as tiger stripes or leopard spots.

I would say they have to either get 1 rare item for a stage change or only have it available through rp'ing.

Of course not, delegation is key in this line of work!

Someone told me it was a good idea to stop by the lab today, so here I am. Sookie and Bebbie are with me so they can interact with other blobbies. I see a group of people surrounding a desk. When I walk over I notice a bunch of paperwork and some pens. I ask around to find out what this is about and smile when they tell me. Of course I want to help Dr. Kayesh and the free item makes it even more interesting.  I pick up a paper and a pen and start filling out the survey.

1. Please list at least three (3) traits you would be interested in seeing: butterfly wings deserve a special mention, because they are just too pretty to exclude. For other traits I would just like a lot of variety. So a combination of realistic traits(bird wings for example) and fantasy (draconic tail for example) and just lots of different possibilities.
2. What would be a fair price for unknown items? Either randomly priced or all priced the same. Because if you price them according to their hidden value that would kinda ruin the surprise and destroy the purpose of unknown items in my opinion. I think prices should range between 1K and 20K. Possibly higher depending on effects you want to include in unknown items.
3. What would be a fair price for known items? Should be influenced by how drastically it affects a creature. The item is known, so it ruins any kind of surprise which some people may not like, but because you know what you are buying I believe they should be generally more expensive than unknown items. 5K and up I think (not listing a maximum because I dunno what kind of effects you have in mind, I think items that guarantee a trait or stage change without involving RP should be very expensive).
4. Should there be a specific number of items used on a blobbie to cause a stage change? I think it should be combined with RP somehow. Maybe have a hidden % of growth, so both RPing and using items adds a percentage. If you RP a lot you wouldn't need a lot of items to get a stage change, but if you don't RP at all you may need quite a lot of them.
5. Should there be an item available to force a stage change? Maybe, but very rare and very very expensive. I would prefer not to have such an item at all, but I can understand people who lack time to RP may want this.
6. Would you mind someone other than Dr. Kayesh taking care of item sales/records? I don't mind, as long as they are just as qualified as Dr. Kayesh. Chatspeak puts me off, especially if you're the one running things.

I am almost finished when Dr. Kayesh rushes over to talk to me. He hands me a potion to give to Sookie and tells me it might help. Sounds good to me, so I thank him and take the potion before I turn my attention back to the survey.

I hand the survey to Dr. Kayesh and pick up a red potion from the crate. "Do you happen to know the effect of these potions? And can we use them whenever we like or will you give us instructions?"

((I will use the awarded potion on Sookie after finishing this conversation. Might also use the red one or save it for later use, depending on what he tells me.))

Soothe sees Sookie again, and slides down my arm. It seems to like it up on my shoulder when it wants to see the world, or just inside my sleeve when it wants to rest in a dark and warm place. I know it's an it, but I keep getting the urge to call it "him".

It seems to have unraveled a long string from the seam of my sleeve. Great, another shirt Ill have to repair. It dangles this string towards Sookie, perhaps trying to entice Sookie to play. It seems a bit nervous about getting down, or perhaps it's cold and wants my body heat? But it definitely wants to play!

(Sorry I have not yet replied to the other thread! I meant to do so last night after I finished some items and it completely slipped my mind!  I'll sneak over there after I reply here.)

Dr. Kayesh grins at the question.  "Well, Solistia and kasatsu should be able to tell you what the red fizzy potion does.  After all, that's what affected their blobbies from the initial adoption."  He is pleased to know what at least one item does.  "I expect that the other two fizzy potions effect gender as well, though I'm fairly certain the red and blue ones would take multiples to step all the away across the gender spectrum."  He glances down at YourLoveOnly's two blobbies and is content at how they appear, though Sookie just might be morphing slightly.  He'd have to check his records to verify, but he wouldn't be surprised if she reached Stage 1 very soon. 

"Oh, feel free to use the items whenever, though I'd like to know when you do.  From what I've observed with Miki, sometimes the potions take a few days to show their effect.  I also think that some of the items I've found need to be used in conjunction with other items in order to show an effect."  He frowns a little at this before shrugging.  "So much about these creatures is still unknown." 

(Thank you all for your survey responses!  I've gotten some new ideas and I'm glad so many people are excited about this!  I only hope I can keep up!)

Sookie playfully hops towards the string and bites, trying to pull the string. Bebbie just sits next to them and watches. It appears to be a little shy and insecure around all these unknown creatures, movements and sounds. To encourage playing I put Bebbie in Sookie's place and pick Sookie up. Maybe without Sookie to hide behind the blobbie will be more likely to explore things on its own.

I carefully give both of my potions to Sookie. I've always thought of both of my blobbies as girls and I know Sookie loves red things, so I first give the red potion. Then I let Sookie drink the other potion Dr. Kayesh gave me and wait a little to see if there are any immediate changes.

((Any thoughts on my journal by the way? <3 It's a lot of fun! I'm curious to see how Sookie will be affected bye everything I let it eat And the potions, of course ^^))

(Yay! Our first real growth!)

Perhaps due to the potion, but also probably because Sookie has had a lot of new foods and interaction, Sookie suddenly grows!



Dr. Kayesh loudly proclaims, "Aha!"  He darts off to write down some notes, bringing a clipboard back with him as he mutters to himself.  "I thought that potion would give her wings, but where did those stripes come from?  And in different shades of red! How interesting.  Is that an earring in her head?"

It will likely take the now-female Sookie a little while to learn how to use her wings, but she will very quickly get the hang of them.  The lost earring is now fused to little Sookie's head, though it obviously does not pain her; she might be proud of her new jewelry.

(Yay!  I'm updating the pick-up post with her new cert, but it will probably take photobucket a few hours to show it.  If it doesn't pop up soon and you'd like the updated one immediately, I can upload a temp version for you.

((I love her! <33 Journal updating for me it is. But that shall be tomorrow, it's past midnight so nothing but bedtime for me right now *tries to force herself to go to sleep instead of staying up and playing with the new blobbie* By the way, in the other thread, shall I just pretend she didn't grow yet? Might get very confusing otherwise XD And I assume this all happens after we went to the park, not before.))

I imitate the "Aha!" sound Dr. Kayesh made the second I see Sookie's new form. The fused earring reminds me of eyes and looks adorable on her. "So she díd eat my earring!" I exclaim and I can't help but laugh. I'm defenitely relieved the sharp end didn't hurt her. I'm pretty sure she can still get herself into trouble, but it's a helpful and relaxing thought that she's not easily harmed. Little blobbies are hard to watch all the time and now that Sookie developed wings the task didn't become any easier.

I watch as Sookie hops arround, adjusting to her new form and continuously fluttering her wings to stay up in the air. Somehow she seems happier to me right now. I let her show off her new form to the other blobbies and return my attention to Bebbie.

Soothe is thrilled that Sookie plays with the string. Tugging and blurbling, it moves faster then I have seen it move yet, making loops around my arm. When Sookie is replaced with Bebbie, Soothe tries the trick again, dangling string before the newcomer.

However, as Soothe witnesses Sookie's transformation, it freezes and stares. Quick as a flash, it scurries down my arm and ingests the blue potion bottle... yes, the whole bottle... before I can stop it. It would seem Soothe is smart enough to make the connection between the potion and the change, but not smart enough to uncap it. Or perhaps it did the whole bottle on purpose?

Soothe climbs round and round in circles on my arm trying to sneak into my pocket to get access, but I have my eye on him this time! instead, I distract him by pointing out the new doors. He stretches himself out to point at one. I nod and make note of it.

(The park is actually just across the street from Dr. Kayesh's lab.  He might come out for a rare outing, but he's unlikely to go far afield unless it benefited his research directly.  lol  Thank you for bringing this up, indigo!)

Solistia took the green unripped cherries she was presented with, and from among her little "cluster" of blobbies, choose to give the present to her Green blobby, Arawn. Holding them out for Arawn to consume, she slowly and gingerly touched green fruit in a few different places before ingesting it all in one go. She shivered a bit, as if in satisfaction, before resting after being full for the moment. Solistia returned the tired blobby to her container, making sure to jot down in her notebook what her little creature had consumed. She could also swear Arawn had a little 'belch' as she quickly inflated and deflated once being put back in her container to rest. This caused Solistia to giggle a bit, as the action was quite adorable.

Suddenly the lab seemed to be buzzing with activity. I tried my best to keep an eye on my blobbies, but didn't really see Sookie anywhere. Bebbie was still sitting on the floor, nomming on the string Soothe left there. I wasn't sure if it was trying to eat it or if it wanted someone to play with..

((Sorry for shortness, I just woke up and the weather is amazing today so I'm gonna go sit outside and play boardgames with my family for most of the day ^^))

Taking the Purple Fizzy Potion from the Doctor, she steps back outside the lab and settles onto a nearby bench.  Sitting the potion down beside her she reaches up and pulls her long hair over her shoulder to pool onto her lap and starts searching through it gently.  "Come on Vera, you can stop hiding now..  Ahh there you are!"  Smiling she gently untangles a dark red gingerbread man shape form her hair and sets it on the bench beside her.  Uncapping the potion she passes it over "Here you go Vera, something for you from Dr. Kayesh, wasn't that nice?"  Looking over she watches the people in the park, while Vera sips the potion down, taking the bottle once empty and giving her the cap to play with.
