A basic ariel map of a section of the Blueridge region...

Elk Ranch
Where you can create,breed and keep your horses.

When in roleplay, most treks and hacks will start out here and progress onwards.
Indoor contests will also be held here.

Blueridge Forest
Where wild horses can be seen and captured, it is also a favoured place for scavenger hunts.

Grove
Deep in the forest is a beautiful grove, it is a believed tradition that newborn foals should be brought here and named, encouraging luck and good health.

Big Blue River
A large river that cuts through the Blueridge region, it is a good place to train sturdy,matured horses.It is also where swimming contests are held.

Senn Market
This market is where most horse and livestock trading is held.

Senn Village
The village is where you can buy random bits and bobs, we'll see exactly what later

...Week 1 - Elk Ranch (2 months earlier)...

He was stood in the entrance of Elk Ranch,It was dawn,the sky was dark but the sun was just beginning to spread it rosey morning glow, the ground was firm and golden with wisps of desert-like sand herded by a gentle wind. The sweet smell of hay and horses reached his nose and distant whinnes and snorts could be heard.

A young woman walked up to him with an energetic smile.
"Well hey there! I don't beleive I've seen your face round here before.I'm Willow, the owner of the ranch.Please, let me show you around." She winked and gestured for him to follow her over to a building.
As he get closer, the sound of horses got louder and when the woman pushed on the large double doors he was taken aback by how long it was, as he'd only seen it head on before it looked average.More than that it was wide enough for three columns of stalls, from which poked the inquistive and breathtaking heads of possibly hundreds of horses.
"Well...Say hello to the Blueridge horses, this guy over here's Goliath, my handsome friend."
Willow patted the cheek of a stunning blue stallion. He had piercing green eyes, a white snip with just a hint of pink.His rough short mane was snow white, and on his back was a stunning blanket of what looked like leopard spots.

"These horses...They're beyond anything I've ever seen!" He exclaimed, his eyes shining.

"Why thank you little human, may I say you look positively average today." Snorted a nearby chesnut bay.

[Needless to say, this shocked him a little...In fact he woke up on a bed with a warm damp towel pressed to his forhead by a worried looking Willow.]

"How are you feeling? I'm very sorry,but they're usually quite quiet..I take it you weren't aware the horses could talk?" She said quietly.
"Mumnuhmrr" He managed to say.

"Look, why don't you have lunch with me and then we'll head on out to the courtyard. I've got a few events lined up, I think it's time your learnt more about these horses.Perhaps you'll find yourself a companion?"
She smiled encouragingly.

Once they'd had lunch he went outside to the courtyard, the sun was now rising and spilling it's golden beams across the land.

Willow looked upon the newcomer with a smile. He was the first in a new project designed by the Blueridge council to bring in more tourists, and she'd lept at the chance to reign in people at the ranch. So many horses needed homes and owners.
She sighed and looked at the rising sun with a smile.
"Here's to a new start."

For this example I'll use my Goliath...


Name - The name you choose for your horse
Owner - You
Gender - Either Mare,Stallion or Gelding (Foals are simply colts and fillies)
ID - What no. your horse is
Pedigree - Either wild, or parents ID's.. '000 x 000'
Stats - Two or three attributes your horse has, certain combinations make them better at certain things, more below.

.Stats + Competitions.

There are three types of competitions.

Show, Race and Trial.

Shows are when a horse must perform perfect routines, whether it's western style,dressage or jumping.
Best combos: Ag,Ag,Sp Ag,St,In

Races are simple, the fatest horse to complete a set route wins.
Best combos: Sp,St,Sp Ag,Sp,Sp


Trial are over a couple of days, they consist of a scavenger hunt, swimathon and barrel racing.
Best combos: St,Str,Ag St,St,Str

.Combos.

Ag = Agility, there more Ag, the more agility your horse has.
Sp = Speed, the more SP, the more speed your horse has.
St = Stamina, the more St, the longer your horse can 'go' for.
Str = Strength, the more Str, the more power your horse has.
In = Intelligence, the more In, the smarter your horse (although all of the horses are smart! These would just be the academic sort )

.Breeding.

To breed you need;

One Mare
One Stallion
10k SG


Breeding is an all round affair, however there may be periods where I have to halt breeding if it gets too much.

.Trading.

Trading will be opened occasionally, I'd like to have it open all the time, but it was either trading or breeding...I went with the cute one >.>
