Care Post
Horse: Banshee
Banshee is being dewormed, given shots and has been put on a mild antibiotic for her cough.  She also has been giving a protein suppliment for her grain so that should help with her muscling.  Her attitude however is still a work in progess. Nipping and ear pinning is going to have to stop, so I may need some help with.

There are only 3 left unfound!

Guys, a reminder, if you plan on trading this may be a good time to do so. At the end of the month, trading season will close. Also, Im going to open breeding as soon as the last 3 eggs are found!!

Poor Seacrest, you keep finding ones that are already posted by someone else :(

SweetCaroline

Any way you can post Melody's colors? I got them all but hers. Thanks.

According to the best guess of the Ranch workers who did the paperwork, she is a grey blanket appy. Remember, they don't do genetic testing, so sometimes they could be wrong! (that usually only applies to "false white" horses however.)

Care post:
Horse: Frozen Orb.
Care: Today the vet came by to check up on The Orb. She was still rather shaken after her shock with the dog, but the vet was extremely gentle and took everything slow and by the end of the visit, I was positive that she liked him more than me, haha. I spent the rest of the day mucking out her stall, grooming her and doing my regular check ups with her water. She seems to be doing better every day and I hope that she'll be ready to face the paddock tomorrow for some fresh air.

Care Post
Horse: Gypsy Rose
Gypsies day begins within the paddock with her and Beyla. Halter work, obediance and general handling is coming along nicely, although Beyla is needing to be in the middle of it.  Grooming and playtime before her deworming went very well, she was relaxed and made little fuss of it.  Gypsy will be seeing the farrier tomorrow for her first manicure.

quyllur

I posted this back on Page 7, but I think it got skipped?

QuoteCan I use my candy on Oriel?

Care Post
Horse: Diva

Today it was finally nice enough to give Diva a bath so I brought her out of her field into the yard and introduced her to the hose.  She wasn't pleased with the cold water splashing on her belly and so close to her face but she finally got used to it and seemed to even enjoy the sudsy massage part of the whole operation.

indigowulf

Not skipped love, I tend to do updates in batches. Usually I wait until I have around 10 things to update, then do them all at once. That way I only have to open my art program once a day :) Don't worry, Ill  make sure Im 100% updated before I open breeding!

quyllur

Ok, I just noticed that you had a post a few down that said you were all updated, so maybe that was about something else?

Tha ks Indigo, I am keeping track of the guesses untill the time comes when we know for sure. Do we need to wait for the care gems to be actually in our folder to use them? Asking because I believe I have enough to use on my remaining horses with 1 to spare.

Oh Im sorry that was totally a confusing post,  I meant the candy being put on the owners page for those who found eggs. Sorry!!

Care gems go directly on the horse that was cared for. Candy goes in folders until you decide to use it. I am going to be updating care gems/certings/used candy in about 15 minutes, lunch first. You may still have to click for full size view on photobucket to see the correctly updated gems when Im done, it likes to delay updating anything smaller then full size.

quyllur

I'll throw in my care post for today then, so you can add it at the same time.

Care Post

Horse: Diva
I took Diva into the round pen today.  She was a little iffy about having ropes near her face but submitted to my efforts to halter her nonetheless.  Once in the pen I discovered that she does have some familiarity with common voice commands but also a tendency to stick to a sedate walk whenever possible!

Well then I ment candies sweety. Do they have to actually have made it into your folder to use them or can we use them now? Asking because folder shows to, update when it comes should show 4. If I can use now then would like to use 3 on remaining horses that need them. Thanks

Breeding season!!

FAQ's (feel free to ask more)

What does it cost?: this time around only, it is free- the only price is for you to post suggestions on fair breeding prices for future (yes, you must post a fair price to get a breeding this time)

How many times can we breed?: Because of the health risks involved, a stallion may only breed twice per season. Mares once.

Can I charge for a reverse breeding fee?: Yes. You may charge whatever someone is willing to pay.

How many offspring will be born?: usually only 1.

Is there a chance for a stillborn foal?: yes, it has the same chance to occur as twins.

How long does it take for a foal to grow up?: At least 3 days. It can take more if you don't post a care post for it. It will grow on the first care post for it after the 3rd day.

Can breeding hurt my horse?: Yes! There are difficulties that can arise that can make your horse lost as many as 2 health gems!

How is the birthing determined?: random.org gets a set list, the same number of options for everyone.

How is the new foals health determined?: (Mother's gems + fathers gems) /2 then minus 1 and anything from rough birth. So, an easy birth from fully healthy parents will result in a foal with 4 health gems.

What happens if my foal is born with 0 or negative health gems?: If it's 0, you must roleplay immediate vet care within 24 hours of the posted birth. If it's 0, you will lose the foal. The most that can be lost from rough birth is -2, so a 0 born foal means the parents weren't healthy enough to risk breeding.

Can I breed different types together?: Yes, you can interbreed anything except minis. The offspring will be classified according to the body type it is born with.

So, everyone come on out and celebrate with us! This spring, there is a vet on hand, with a staff of interns. These interns have asked that you bring out your horses so they can get familiar with them. They will be the ones assisting with the birthing of your horses!

We have rented out a large arena and stalls for this event. This time around, as it is a learning experience for the interns, there will be no vet fee, and the risk of negative things happening to your horses will be significantly lowered.

So, first things first, Please bring your horses on down to our eventing arena. You may bring up to 4 horses per owner, due to the fact that is how many can fit in our trailer. You can only keep 1 breeding for yourself, but may offer up your other horses to others for breeding.

(meaning- please post up to 4 horses. 2 can be your own that you wish to use for breeding. the rest can be offered for reverse breeds. if you are a non-owner, please feel free to relax in the stands and watch these lovely horses being paraded in front of the interns!)

No forms needed just yet- just post your 1-4 horses now. Once everyone has arrived, you may tell the vets which horses you plan to breed together.

All of my other horses need to be vetted up first, butt I'd like to breed these two, so I'm bringing them in to the arena.

ETA:  Oops! Forgot to add a breeding price suggestion.  Hmm, I think around 75k to 100k would be good.  Don't want to make it unobtainable for the less well off of Secundi.

(ETA: Carnegie needs vetting up or I would bring him in too.  How does one get candy out of the eggs?)

Care Post
Horse: Marie
The vet came today to check Marie over. He told me that she is a little on the small side for her age, so I'm supposed to give her a special supplement once a day for the next month. The plan is that this will bulk her up a little. After the vet left, I ran over to the local feed store and bought a large bag of the supplement. She seemed to quite like the taste, actually ;)

SweetCaroline

Spring, A stallion can breed twice per season, so you could techniccly still offer him up for breed after breeding him with Myst.
