Rescue game 1: suggest a rescue!

Truck Wreck

A truck full of recentlly rescued horses was on it's way in to the Rescue Center when it got side swiped causing it to overturn off the side of the road. The tail gate came open & all the horses practiccly ran each other over trying to get away in their fear taking off in all different directions. Some headed for a nearby wooded area, others headed down a hill toward a lake while others headed for some mountains the truck had passed right before getting side swiped.

The Truck Driver calls in the wreck on his cell phone & requests some help in rounding up the horses.

Each person posts which direction they are going to try to help,(woods,lake, or mountains)

You decide ahead of time how many horses headed in each direction.
Use Random.org to decide how many horses got found from each place, then use it again to decide who actually found the horses.

Probablly needs some working on the idea to make it right, but it is just an idea.

Care: Today I took Galahad to the vet for a small checkup. He is more friendly now, allowing the vet to examine his teeth and ears. Besides being a little underweight, Galahad is a completely healthy horse, according to the vet. I also bought some preventive worm medicine and some shampoo to keep Galahad in his healthy condition.

unigender isnt valid, because I already have the adult form of every foal I've colored done. They are realistic based, so even a baby, you can tell what gender it is when you have it and bright pink also invalid, the closest to pink it'll ever be is around muzzle and eyes on a "white" horse.

At the end of 24 hours (from now) all the auction horses will be going home with the person who guessed closest to what they were. Some guesses now are very close, some horses havent been guessed even close to. Everyone gets 24 hours to get 1 last guess in!

Both named once photobucket decides to update. Heading for bed now. Remember to read the post on page 1 about the health meter! They can't breed or compete if they aren't healthy!

Just worked out my breeding randomization (for how the breeding goes) The most health gems a stallion can ever lost in breeding is 1. A mare or foal may lose up to 2. There's a 1 in 26 chance of a stillborn (not counting lethal genetics, which also lead to stillborns or pregnancies that don't "take"), and also a 1 in 26 chance of twins.

A foal will be born with the average of it's parents health gems -1, and - anything from labor stress. So, you can end up with -3 gems. If both parents were at full health, the foal would have 2 gems worst case. A foal born with 0 green health gems will require immediate urgent care, which must be roleplayed, or you may lose it (you'll have a week.)

A foal will never be born with negative, and breeding will never put a parent negative, however, if an adult horse goes to 0 because of your actions, you cannot aquire a new horse or participate in events with your horses until *all* horses in your possession are at max health. This is because someone calls the animal control on you, and you get put on parole until they are all at top condition.

Care: Today I got a new horse and named her Kyouki.  I paid a visit to the vet to check on her health and make sure she got her shots.  The vet seemed satisfied with her general health but has recommended she gained some weight.  I will add some alfalfa to her diet and keep a close eye on her to see how things go.

((I know nothing about horses, but I did a quick search that said to give alfalfa to horses to help them gain weight.  If this is not accurate, please let me know so I don't look stupid for too long... lol!))

Horse:Guiding Light
Care: Guiding light was checked today to make sure his colic was fully gone, the vet said he looked fine however she was worried about him foundering because of how much the big boy eats so now hes cut back to a grass pasture only every 2 days otherwise we are working in the arena most of the day and hes in his dirt paddock the rest of the day.

Anything carewise will do, as long as it shows you making an effort to help your horse. That also includes emotional and mental health- making friends and making them comfy and happy is important too!

Alfalfa is good.

Care: Since Rayna is new to my facility, I'm trying to make the transition as easy as possible for her. I turned her out in the big paddock for the first time today, so that she could graze and run around. Her health remains good, and she seems to be adjusting well.

Care: I called my own vet and had him come meet me at the Rescue.  I wanted him to check her over before she was loaded onto the transport; make sure there were no problems that would be exacerbated by the move.  While waiting for the vet to arrive, I spent some time with her.  Just standing close and talking quietly to her, letting her get used to me.  By the time my vet got there, she had let me move up right next to her; and had even ventured to sniff at me a bit.  A small step to gaining her trust I know, but one I was happy to have passed.

I stare in astonishment at the beautifull mare the ranch workers have asked me to take home. She is soo gorgeous & there seems to be a sparkle in her eyes. I think that would be an appropriate name for her. I ask the workers to please put it as her name on her papers.

Care: I slowlly walk toward Sparkle as not to startle her with any swift movement. I stretch out my hand toward her, palm side up but keep my hand open as flat as I can so hopefully she will not be able to bite it should she take the notion. She watches me out the corner of her eye but makes no move toward or away from me. I speak softly to her as I take yet another step closer asuring her I mean her no harm. When I finally get close enough that she could reach my outstreched hand if she chose to I stand still & continue talking to her & wait for her to make the next move. She takes a few minutes, but finally sniffs my hand & gives a soft whinny. I step closer as I continue to talk to her & reach out to stroke her neck lightly. I try to assure her we are going to be good friends & that I will take good care of her. I call the vet before leaving to take Sparkle home & she tells me to let the horse rest & get acustom to her new home overnight & she will be out the next day to give her a check up.

Updated to here. After the auction horses find thier homes tonight, I need to focus on my adoptable haven breedings. They are going slower then I expected (I planned to color a lot of babies all at once, to save opening files over and over) so I guess Ill go get them done, so we can move on.

Horse: Ace of Spades
With Ace being such a young foal, I called my own vet and had her come out to the rescue to check his age and advise me on his nutritional requirements.  After a thorough examination, she determined that he was around six months old, old enough that he wouldn't require bottle-feeding.  He's thin, but he sure put up a fuss about being examined and poked with needles, and again when it came time to load him into the trailer.  When I got him back to my place and unloaded him, however, he was fairly calm - more curious than anything, I think.  He is settling in nicely in his own turnout stall, so he has easy access to his own private paddock where he can see the other horses but not be bothered by them.  I look forward to getting to know this spunky little guy.

Horse: Come Clearity
Care: Now that I know Come Clearity has no big health issues I can focus on getting to know her a bit better. I let her out into a paddock to graze, I talk to her a lot and make sure she gets used to me. At the end of the day she is a lot more responsive to my voice, I can pet her and she seems to start enjoying my company.
