if you don't know the answer to this yet then no worries, but when we figure out how to move old world dogs to secundi will they bring their Comp points along with them?  Just trying to figure out who if when I will bring over to secundi first (wants to bring Kazan but don't want to have all that training go to waste)

I haven't worked it out with the rest of the team yet, but I was thinking they would get equivalent points for their events, like endurance - stamina, so every point won in a stamina comp would be added to the stats, and BIS = luck, so that would be added to the luck stats. Something like that, but like I said not worked out yet.

Honestly I don't think we can say anything at all about how Secundi comps will work on affecting breeding until after the test run(s) are done and we know how the system really does.

As I said in the "what kennel dog would you steal" thread, she looks to me like a blue tricolor, though perhaps she's more of a blue merle with very little spotting?

She looks like a heeler I saw in RL once - up close it looks more like roan than spots, but I believe it is still merle - I will need to research that a bit, see if it is the same gene or something different

In that case, it may be merle with unknown modifiers, or it may be the pattern called "blue speckled" in ACDs (whose genetic origin I'm not familiar with; at least one researcher considers it closer to roan than merle)

I don't know about lethal, but I do know that in real life ACDs are sometimes born deaf in one or both ears.  I have no clue if it's related to color in any way, though.

mmmm never really notice how dogs become deaf from their colors. I know mine is deaf and blind but thats cause of the poor breeding that the breeder did *grumbles at idiot breeder in for money*

And since i know merles that breed with merles here sometimes have defects does that including Dapples with dachshunds? since it is different in genes then merles. *have looked up thingys*

I know that a lot of white around the face and ears can cause deafness, this is because the lack of pigment in the hair follicles in the cochlea causes them to not function correctly. This is why whites produced from two merles tend to be deaf.

I will be using blue-speckled if she's sent in for breeding.  At this point, she won't have a problem breeding with merles.  I'll be doing more research, though, and if I need to change it, I'll make sure I post a big notice.  Which goes for any color I find potential problems for, actually

lol. That's Glow, right Spitty? I'm using Firefox and it doesn't show as a glow, it shows as a regular black text with a block of red around the text.

wee! I have 8 dogs who are "old world" and I just bought 8 passports. Cant wait until they open up for transfering. If people want to keep oldworld dogs in the oldworld, its quite possible Ill have 4 champ packs and 1 large bed that need to be swapped for secundi items of equal value. waiting to see what happens

I've got 78 old world dogs and I really want to import all of them but it might take awhile as my SG is very low.

from my understanding you arent required to move them. if you were, i dont think there would be a fee associated.

Anyone know what this coat is?  Considering ordering it in a custom, but I need to know if it is merle first.  If it is, then I have to find a differant image for my male, as the one for him IS merle.

I can't rmember where I got this image, its been on my comp for a while, and I just can't remember if she is merle or not :S

Kadana I woudl not think that is a merle, I think it is more a white tri colored, but then again I am nto great with dog colors, but I know Merle

So, I have 100+ dogs.
-30 are my prime competition dogs; about 10 more are my "backup" show dogs
-2 have champion status, and I'm waiting on their banners
-1 has a collar edit -- will that come with her to Secundi?
-all have their certs, which I love

I... don't know who to import, if any, really. Any advise from other dog owners? I want to get my lovelies to champion status, want to get them banners, etc, etc. But I also want my dogs to have puppies - I have many litters planned already - and don't know if that will be possible off Secundi. And I don't want my dogs to lose their pretty certs, even if I save the images, but I also don't want all my future dogs here and all old dogs there and no happy connection between them... *flops*

What's everyone else doing?

Im gonna transfer all to secundi, but its easy for me because none of mine have so much as a single ribbon. Nobody has said you have to move them, I think its easier for future trading and equipping because you can do it automatically, but I dont think theres any real disadvantage to not importing.

I plan to import all of my dogs eventually. I'm starting with my favorites, and moving on from there. I have been working really really hard to get breeding to cross Old World and Secundi.

Well beds are still the breeding items for the Kennel, so we will work on getting them included into your inventory somehow too...

I have always intended to keep doing breedings for both... and I know Taru just posted the other day that breeding would still be possible with both, so I still don't understand why everyone thinks they won't be able to breed their non-Secundi dogs O.o

I am working on how to manage the interbreeding between the two.  If I kept breeding separate, ran forum breeds and Secundi breeds, it might be fairly simple, but getting them to mesh, when people may or may not be importing old dogs, is a little more challenging XD

Trust me, I am working on it, and now that the dogs have started being imported, I can get a better idea of how things should work

To add, though: at this point I don't intend to import any of my current competitors from the Kennel forum comps.  I have 30 actively competing, and I want them to get their ribbons, etc.  I don't know if I will import them later; it depends on a lot of things XD

I saw before that they would be inter breedable, so that wasn't a concern for me.  I do however have other questions about breeding (among other things) lol but I'm trying to bite my tongue (so to speak) and give you all a chance to figure things out and get them set up.

Once breeding is set up and usable, I'll look for my answers, and ask if I can't find them

I am importing all my dogs that I am not contesting over ont eh kennel site, Those dogs will continue so I can get them their champion banners just for me to look at, then I will decide from there what I want to do

As for me, I don't plan to import any of my Competition dogs because I don't want them to lose their ribbons. I probably won't be importing my dogs with champ packs, since I like seeing their champ packs on their certs. ^_^ So only non-competition Old World dogs of mine will be coming over to Secundi.
