I've learned to be pretty lenient with the movies but the sixth movie just had me shaking my head the whole time. They left out some really important things and put in some things that i felt shouldn't have been there.

And I'm as surprised as Ryuu that you haven't had the book spoiled for you. I'd definitely try and get a copy and read it. I liked most of it. ^^

Question- for things in this thread, should we post in Taru's help thread for ribbons and champ packs, or will things in this thread be awarded at the end of the month? I dont want to post in the help thread and mess something up if they come at the end of the month or something, I dont know how things are done

champ packs will be going out this week (for last week and this week's grabs - I didn't get a chance to do them last week)

ribbons, I am compiling a list of all the backdated ribbons, and they will be added when I have gotten through the last 7-8 months worth of ribbons.  As of right now, I believe we will be sticking to just one ribbon of each placing, showing that they have placed at that level.  Some of the old comps are so far gone we would never be able to figure out, accurately, just how many of each ribbon some dogs have received.

Thanks for answering Now that I know, I wont pester anyone by accident or make things more complicated in my ignorance. I am completely happy with 1 ribbon per placing, I'm just tickled pink that some of my doggies are starting to do well! I personally have no back-dated ribbons other then the 1 in this thread for Chibi.

Ok, since I fail, and didn't run this last night  (I have an excuse, a cute one!) I will do the "day-long" grab again...

Starting at noon secundi/CDT time (so about 1 hour, 30 minutes from now), I will start throwing out bowls once or twice an hour

my local feed store got their spring chicks in on Friday, and I picked up my first little chickens!

If you do accidentally use the wrong dog to grab with, fix it quickly; if the winning dogs are not there when I go to add the points, whoever was the next to post for that bowl gets the point.  If for some reason, no other dog was posted (or that owner managed to win 3 others in the grab) I will either give the point to a different dog owned by the original grabber, or a random other owner/dog that was participating in the grab

Oooo, people guessing breeds!  fun

There are two Rhode Island reds in there - in the corner, the one with her wing on the other is one, and the one just behind that pair is the other; I didn't notice it when I got them, but now that I have been observing them for a couple days, one is noticably larger than the other.  Not a huge difference, probably just a slight difference in age

The one under the wing (she a slightly lighter variation; she's also the one who named herself - Arra) and the stripey one are the same breed, though I think they will be different colors - their breed can come in 8 recognized colors (probably more, unrecognized XD)  The other, the "yellow/buff" chick is a third breed - she's hard to see, as in the pic, she blends in with the shavings; she's right next to the second Rhode Island red.  She's also the "friendliest" so far, possibly due to her breed.  I think I'll let people guess some more, before announcing the other two breeds, see if anybody gets them.

I used to raise chickens on my farm when I was a kid. I was homeschooled- taking care of the animals was my whole focus. Over 40 rabbits and about 300 chickens- I knew each by name and temperment and could recite thier lineage back to the first "starter" chickens we owned. From about the time I was 4 til just before I turned 12, my life was consumed with the farm chores.

I had a pair of polish bantys that took best of show and best of breed in fairs every time those were "my" chickens, set aside from the flock as being my personal pets to raise as I saw fit instead of how the parents told me to. My mothers "pet" hen, the one I wasnt allowed to raise because it was her show hen, never got better then a white ribbon, which everyone who entered at least got that lol.

Am i allowed to guess again on the chicks? heh

I don't mind if you guess again - no official contest for these, just for fun   I don't know how many people on here will actually know chickens XD

And the lighter of the two stripey ones already has her "beard/muff" coming in - little tufts on her cheeks XD

According to the information sheets that were posted by the chicks, two of the types I got are "bantams" but the girl who was helping me thought that was just another word for chicken *headdesk*  And since they are all about the same size, I doubt that two breeds are banties and the other isn't
