For the item shop/show login, you'll need to register an account with the site and have one of the Kennel staff activate it for you. It's not restricted to just Kennel owners, as I have one.

I believe Tag-Its are obtained through spending points gained from showing your dogs. They can also be found through the Adventure if you're really lucky. They might also be obtained from forum events and such as well, but I haven't been active in the Kennel long enough to know for sure.

As for websites, I imagine anything that displays the dogs nicely and has page sections for important records you wish to keep, like past breedings and show winnings, will work. Most of the basic sites you'll see are probably set up with template wizards which means most of the design work and code work is done for you. If you're unfamiliar with how websites work, this may be how you want to run things.

It's listed under Automated Comps, under Competing by the by. Most of what you'll use your account for is signing up your show-equipped dogs in the shiny database for future shows.

I'd wait a bit to see what tips Garney or Taru can give you before launching into website design though, especially if you're new to website creation. Most of the Kennels listed look to be from members who were active during the PI era and aren't in Secundi, and Kennel requirements may have changed. =)

I have a few questions as well:

In TheKennel, do long lines negatively affect pups in any way, as long as they're not mixed or inbred?

Would people be less likely to trade for pups if they were slightly long-lined, or are they more likely not to care? (On PI, many people will not buy a pony if it's not a starter, SO, or DVSO.)

For the 10% profit tax for regular Kennels, is that only in real life currency, like USD, or does currency like SG and PG count in the tax?

Most of the time in real world stuff, dogs with champion blood are worth more. So long lines would be good if the pup is a decendant of achamp.
But personally, I would not care one way or another if the dog had long lines.

for websites and dog page setup it is all individual.  Some people use weebly, some moonfruit, I myself use a forum for my kennels.  My main kennel is in shambles right now but is beign worked on, but the other two are set up nicely.

the 10% tax applies to any moneys (pg, sg, or usd)

Tags can be aquired easiest through the competitions by using points, if you are lucky enough to have dogs place.  or buy them from people who can get them that way

I've looked at a few websites and found them different...is there a list of things we need to include?: Dog pages are set up differantly base don the user/owner of the dogs and how they wish to do it.  I don;t recal seeing any specific rule about how you do that.  Most kennels I have seen seperate their dogs in some way (usually by breed and/or gender) but myself, I seperate mine by breed size.  Others may not seperate theirs at all.


-What do we need to include for standards?:  Been a while since I did this, so not sure atm..


-If there are no fees listed in the thread, does that mean there are none?:  No, it just means that most of us are aware of the prices I think.  prices can usually be located somewhere on the website if needed.  Kennel registration fee is 10k sg.  You will need to send the fee at the time of applying for registration.


-When/how/where can we get Tag-Its?: Tags are sold or given out as prizes.   You can also "buy" tags with points earned from competing your dogs.

-Where are our lockers/owners folders? I can't find an owner folder for me in the owner's albums...: Owners folders are Pre-Secundi.  Your dogs will now go on your secundi pets page.  items will be in your secundi inventory.  (or locker..) The locker is located in the "shiney".  The shiney is the competition site where you enter your dogs into the weekly comps.  When you earn enough points form copeting, you can use them on that site to "buy" various things.  Which will sit in your locker until someone has time to move them to your secundi inventory, or you use them.  (I think lectral is in charge of the competition site atm, for registering etc, though I could be mistaken on that.)

anyways dogs aren't allowed to be sold on PI anyways, there is a rule that adopties no longer on PI can't be advertised, but I guess if it isn't advertised then it would be ok.

But remember if they aren't registered PG can not be offered at all as non registered kennels may nto accept currency.  This goes beyond secundi

If you click the website link from the kennel posts, 99% of what you asked about is either on the website or on the forums there. A very few things have changed, most is the same. The only things you cant really see for yourself is shiney/locker related things, until you have your own shiney account.

so when you enter your dog in teh shiny for comps you pick one fo the three classes, it is your choice

Out of curiosity, when creating formal show names, which Kennel prefix are you supposed to use when you obtain a dog via trade and he/she didn't have a listed show name or you change the show/call name after trade? Normally I'd go with the (Original Kennel)'s (Show Name) of (Current Kennel) format, but aren't you supposed to keep all elements of the dog's original name when using that format?

I know, it's more fuss than most people would worry about, but I'm such an annoying stickler for details, I can't help it.

you can enter a dag in all of them, just specializing in one gives them an extra point in that one.

As for prefix, most bred dogs take the prefix of the mothers kennel
if you get a dog in trade and it is first gen then yoru kennel prefix

Once you have some points saved up you can purchase generics from the Kennel store. In the meantime, you can purchase or trade champ packs from other users. They're one of the few items that don't show up in the adventure, sadly.
