Springtime! The air has grown warm, the sunshine beams down, and everywhere, things are blooming. You make your way down a familiar forest lane. The last time you were out this way, the whole place seemed a lot spookier and dark, but now, birds are chittering and squirrels dart through the lush undergrowth to either side. Sunlight dapples the ground in cheerful, shifting bursts as it finds its way through the canopy.

The directions on your invitation do not, however, lead you to the front of that strange mansion that you'd explored in autumn, but rather around the side. You make your way down a now-repaired cobblestone path, and glance up at the house as you go-- it's not quite falling apart the way it was when you were last here, and looks a whole lot more welcoming.

As you round a rock wall and come to a gate, you can see that beyond, a huge tent has been set up in one of the grassy lawn areas on the property. Pushing open the gate, you start towards it, making out the shapes of pots and plants and, of course, Saturn, bustling around busily.

WELCOME TO THE PLAMP SALE

"Ah, hello! Welcome to the Plamp Sale!"
You had been convinced that Saturn had just misspelled the word 'Plant' on your invitation, but... it would seem not.

"You would not believe what I've found while exploring the gardens out here! Eduardo has children!"

You stare blankly as Saturn pauses, and seeing your confusion, she continues.

"The magic of this place has spawned some sort of... sentient plants. But they aren't really plants, they just sort of look like them. So I've been calling them Plamps. Because they are plants, but nore really. Plamps."

Before you can back away slowly, Saturn gestures around to the tables set up under the tents, with more spilling out into the sunshine. "See? Plamps! But there are too many for them to all stay here. Want some? I know these don't really look like much, but believe me, when they get settled in and you start cultivating them, you can get some real stunners!"

Plamp Information

Plamps are alive, but... well, not quite creatures. They grow much like normal plants, with soil and sunlight or whatever other special things they might need, but they also thrive on interaction with the world around them, in a limited sort of capacity. Ever heard that plants grown better with music playing? Well, this is extra true for Plamps! And if you talk to them, while they can't talk back, you might find that the leaves wiggle in a way that suggests agreement or excitement, or a mushroom stalk might seem to do a little dance.

When you first obtain a cutting or seedling, it will appear rather plain. Starting out, the Plamps are mostly shades of gray or very pale colors, and if they have markings, they are quite subtle. But with fertilizer and cross-pollination and other techniques, you can create more vibrant and unique varieties! Who knows what sort of genetics those Plamps are hiding under the drab starter exterior?

The Basics:

• There are many species of Plamps, with more being discovered as time goes on!
• Starter plamps will be gray or pale, and if marked, it will be very faint. In some cases, starters will have no markings or colors at all, but they always have the potential to carry them genetically!
• Plamps can pass on their markings and colors.
• Plamps can be 'bred' via cross-pollination to create offspring.
• Plamps can also reproduce via other methods, like cuttings and grafting, to create similiar offspring or combinations of Plamp species.
• With each generation, Plamp colors and markings will get brighter and more pronounced. The opportunity for multi-colored, multi-marked Plamps is very possible!
• And never forget... Plamps can be full of surprises!

Saturn is unpacking boxes of various gardening... stuff. Most boxes are still sealed, but there are little buzzing containers of bees sitting on one table.

Items and What They Do
Bee: Main 'Breeding' Item - Pollinates two Plamps of the same species. 1-2 Plamps will result from the combination
Grafting Wand: Main 'Breeding' Item - Combines two Plamps of different species. 1-2 Plamps will result from the combination, and can be either of the parent species
Watering Can: Gives a 75% chance of an extra offspring when used with a Bee or Grafting Wand
Grafting Wax: Gives a 25% chance of hybrid offspring (a mix between the parent species) when used with a Grafting Wand
Compost Fertilizer: Gives 50% chance of extra-intensifying the offpsring color when used with a Bee or Grafting Wand
Bone Meal Fertilizer: Gives 50% chance of extra-intensifying the markings when used with a Bee or Grafting Wand

Foraging for Mushrooms

Fancy a chance at another Plamp? There are only mushrooms currently available, but you're welcome to go find another starter 'shroom!

Saturn gestures to a little patch of cultivated 'forest' in the manor's grounds. "There's lots of Mushroom Plamps in there. Try your luck at foraging one yourself if you want!" She hands you a pot with some soil to take with you, and off you go.

Once a day, you can roll 1d20. Depending on your luck, you might find a Plamp!

(There is a 50% chance you'll find something, and number will determine the characteristics of what you find!)

Plamp Pollination

Do you have two Plamps? Do you have a Bee? Put them together and you get more Plamps!

At this point in time, you may only pollinate your own Plamps. As this gets rolling, there will be opportunities for using other people's Plamps, trading, etc.

Each Plamp can be pollinated once a day!

Each person may do two pollinations a day!

Some info:
Each trait (so every separate color or pattern that a Plamp carries) has a 50/50 chance of passing (just a yes/no, no dominant/recessive genetics). All patterns that pass will attempt to show. If multiple colors pass on, it's random which one shows up (unless there's a pattern that will allow for both) or it might show up as a blend of the two depending on the Whims of Magic.
Not all Plamps carry a color or pattern, and some that carry them don't show them right away.
The 'starter' gray is also capable of darkening into Black.

The shade under the tree is a pleasant sort of cool, and you enjoy it as you hunt for Mushrooms. But like those recently before you, luck seems to be paused and no Plamps come into view.

Back out you go! Searching high and low but... what is it with this luck?! Still nothing!

Kahlira ventures back out again, peering under branches and bushes. And finally (thanks to Eduardo?) the streak of bad searching luck is broken, and a Plamp is found!

Kah - not totally sure I understand the question, but the answer is probably yep, that's fine, lol. You can re-use the same Plamps multiple times (just each one can only get used once a day).
Inbreeding also isn't really a big concern here, though if people want the extra challenge of keeping track of lines, feel free!
