Welcome one and all to the August Show Competitions! Now, things might be a little rocky because this is Wildfilly's first time running a show, and the first time FCFC as a whole has seen a show in a loooonnnggg time. I hope everything goes well, but be mindful that mistakes happen and I will learn from them. <3

General Info

Shows are run through CFA (Cat Fancier's Association) for cats & AKC (American Kennel Club) for dogs! The Feline and Canine Fancier's Club (FCFC) has taken many of the ideals that these two associations hold and tweaked them to fit our needs as a show animal association.

  - Kitten | Competition is for pedigreed cats only.  {Entry Level}

  - Premiership | Competition is for pedigreed cats only.  {Available after completing Kitten}

  - Championship| Competition is for pedigreed cats only. {Available after completing Premiership}

  - House Pet | Competition is for unpedigreed (Moggy) cats only.

  - Best of Breed - [Breed] | Competition is for pedigreed cats only.

  - Beauty | Competition is open to all!

  - Agility Trials | Competition is open to all!

  - Speed Race | Competition is open to all!

FAQ

-What is the difference between a pedigreed and unpedigreed pet?
--Pedigreed pets are recognized breeds such as the Rottweiler, Scottish Fold, Pomeranian, etc. Unpedigreed pets are mutts and moggies.

-Can I enter my Bobtail in the Best of Breed - Persian class?
-- No, sorry, you may only enter Best of Breed classes for that specific breed. So Persians in the Persian class only.

-What do the judges look for in my pet?
-- The judges are looking for many things, though they vary for each competition.
    -In Kitten, Premiership, Veteran, Best of Breed, and Championship; Judges are looking at confirmation, silky and pristine coats, large and expressive eyes, strong and round paws, weight (sorry to all the fluffy fat babies out there, but you have to be fit for competitions!), balance, beauty, health, and show presence.
    -In Household Pets; Judges are looking at many of the same things above, but on a looser scale. They also really like to look at the personality and playfulness of your household pet!
    -Beauty, Agility, Races, and Obedience are all self explanatory. 

-What happens after winning the Grand Championship?
--The best is probably the fact that a Grand Champion (if registered through a Kennel/Cattery) will get +1 babies when bred! So if you rolled a 2 in a breeding, you will automatically get 3 babies instead!
--Major bragging rights. Your pet will get to wave that red, white, and blue striped ribbon around on their profile for the rest of their happy days!
--(+2/-2) bonus in any competition they compete in; yes, -2 is a bonus in some shows
--*Cannot compete in the Kitten, Premiership, Championship, or Grand Championship competitions, but CAN compete in Best of Breed, Agility, Races and Beauty [As an added bonus here, they also will earn you x2 the listed prize if they place 1st in any of these competitions!]

Tips & Tricks!
Just a fun RP blurb

You should be sure that your pet is up to the task to perform! Many times we have seen pets come into the ring under too much stress to perform at their best, thus losing out on that 1st place ribbon. You should also be sure that your pet is healthy and vaccinated, and have the proper documentation to prove this because the secretary will ask you to provide it. Anyone that does not have this documentation will not be permitted to enter any show.

Some tips from some of our veteran's at showing;
-Show up early to find your benched cage(s)!
-Bring a copy of your pet's vaccination documentation, or you will find yourself booted out faster than you can say vaccine!
-Don't forget food, water, and treats for your pet(s), as well as dishes to store them in.
-Bring a litter box for your cats and doggy bags for your pups. You will thank me later.
-Bring a toy or two to keep your pet engaged and entertained. These guys get bored sitting in cages waiting all day!
-Make sure you have a brush for grooming, the judges are very picky on the coat of your pet!

After reading all of this information, you can see it's understandable why pet shows can get so hectic; and usually span one-two full days. If you feel your pet has what it takes to show off, you might be surprised how much hard work and dedication it will demand!

-You may only enter pets that you own!
-You may enter 1 pet per category
-Some pets have a 'Show Name'; if this doesn't apply to you, leave that line blank on the form
-Any ribbons you've earned before 8/1/2017 are not valid, though you may keep them in your info boxes
-Sign ups will be open from 8/1 to 8/15
-Competitions will run from 8/15 to 8/30 (this is when you post your rolls!)
-Categories will change each month we do shows! (ie: Beauty isn't available this month, but will be during [] month. Kitten is available this month, but won't be available [] month.... this is to make life easier for me since secundi doesn't have the coding for shows that fcfcshop.com will. )
