Billions of years ago, Earth was covered with all kinds of wildlife, and man had not been introduced yet. The animals thrived, and natural selection worked at its best to bring on the rise and fall of various species. After many years, however, hundreds--no, thousands--of species were wiped out, and the remaining wildlife grew fearful of what had been introduced to Earth: humans. Then, one day, a large black wolf accidentally found a portal to another world.


So it begins...
The wind was blowing frantically, and it kept whipping my hair into my eyes as I walked along the long dirt path back to my house. I didn't know what was going on at first. One minute it was just me, hurrying along as fast as I possibly could, and the next I was stopped dead in my tracks by a huge furry beast.

I'd heard about portals before. Where creatures from other worlds pass over into our own. But I'd never seen it happen right before my eyes.

Before me stood a large black wolf. At least, I think it was a wolf. It's hard to tell exactly what something is that passes through a portal. Not only can the portals give an animal extra abilities, but they also lead to many, many different worlds. Her golden eyes seemed to peer into my soul, and I felt a tingling in my head.

Excuse me, but could you tell me where I am?

I was shocked. A wolf had just spoken to my mind! Okay, this was a little strange. But this world is filled with strange. I remembered what I'd been taught, to show foreign creatures that they were welcome here, in our world. I smiled and replied, "Welcome to the world of Secundi. My name is River. I am pleased to make your acquaintance." The wolf lowered her head, as if bowing, or showing respect.

Thank you. If I might ask, do you have living quarters for me and my companions?

Companions? I don't see any companions, I thought. Then I tore my eyes away from the animal's gaze, and realized that there were more. Many more. Perhaps too many. Where on earth are we going to keep all of them?! The thought quickly vanished. I knew what I had to do. It was time to call some of my friends, who live in the heart of Secundi.

I'm back! Sorry for the loooong hiatus, but I went a while without a computer to use. But I'm back now and I have plenty of things planned. <3

So it's Christmas time, and because of that I have an extra event this month. So we have 4 instead of the 2 or 3 that I normally do. Anyway, enjoy!

     As you enter the Sanctuary's main headquarters, you are greeted by River.
     "Welcome! Go ahead and treat yourself to some cookies and milk, and when you're ready, just meet everyone over there," she said, pointing to a towering Christmas tree.
     You do as directed and take your snacks over to the tree to await further instructions. More and more people show up, and just as you begin to get slightly impatient, River appears again.
     She stands in front of the gathered crowd and calls for attention. "Excuse me! Everyone please listen for a moment." She gestures to the pile of presents underneath the tree. "One of our workers was nice enough to get everyone a gift or two for Christmas. There's just one slight problem: he forgot to label them! So now we don't know which present is for which person. As a solution, we've decided to take a list of names of all the people here, and the people on the list may take a gift in the order they signed up. If we get to the end of the list and there are still gifts left, we will randomize the list and allow everyone to choose again until they're all gone."

Instructions
- To sign up, post "I want gift #!" in bold red.
     Example: "I want gift 7!"
- The first round of picking, we will go in order of whoever signed up first. First come first serve.
- If there are gifts left after the first round, we will have a second round. In that case, I will randomize the sign up list and we will pick in that order for the remaining gifts.
- Keep in mind that some people will probably have more gifts than others.
- If more people sign up than I have gifts colored, I will make just enough more so that everyone signed up gets at least one.

Slow Frankens

     You've just signed up for the first event when you notice a Sanctuary worker setting up a new table right next to the snack area. There's a slow stream of people leaving the tree to see what is going on with the worker. You follow them and look around.
     There are stacks of paper, a cup of pens, and a box with a small opening in the top. The worker finishes setting up and looks up at the curious people. "Well hello there! My name is Jacob. This table here is for our extended slow franken event.
     He smiles politely and continues to explain. "All you have to do to enter is fill out one of these forms," he says, gesturing to the papers, "and put it in this box here. Every six hours, we will provide a wolf that fits the specifications of the randomized form. It's that simple!"

Instructions
- Fill out the form below. Just one.
- Every six hours I will take the forms that everyone has posted and randomize the information on them.
- The forms get re-used.
- There is no time limit for posting your form. If you don't post in time for the first round, I'll just include your form for the next round and the rounds after that.
- Keep in mind that only the eyes and claws can have fantasy colors. Everything else must be natural. Fantasy patterns are allowed, however.

     You're standing by the snacks when River rushes past you chasing something colorful that's skittering across the floor. Another worker follows her slowly, looking under tables and chairs.
     "What are you looking for?" you ask. She looks up. "Oh, I'm so glad you asked. Our bucket of beetles got knocked over. We were going to hand them out to everyone at the end as party favors."
     You offer to help look for the lost beetles, and the worker looks pleased. "Of course!" She hands you a map of the building and scurries off to continue her search.

     As you step outside for some air, you notice some workers setting up dog sleds. Your curiosity peaks and you go to see what's going on.
     River greets you. "Are you signed up for our sled race?" Noticing your confusion, she elaborates. "Our annual sled race takes place each year at Christmas time. Everyone gets twelve hours to sign up. After sign ups close, we send each person off with a sled team of wolves. They are to run fifty miles in total. The wolves can only safely run eight miles each day, but they can push for a maximum of ten, with a chance of a penalty."

Instructions
- Sign ups will remain open for 12 hours.
- The race begins as soon as sign ups close.
- Roll a 1d8 for a safe run. 1d10 for a risky run.
- When rolling for a risky run, if your roll exceeds 8 miles, then there is a chance you will be penalized in some way. I will choose a penalty when the time comes.
- You may only roll once a day.
- The first person to reach the 50 mile mark (add all the dice rolls together) will get a custom. Second place gets a semi-custom.
