Okay guys! Neo's stopping in real quick from super busy busy life and I'm going to post some progress for my new art project for 3D sculpting.

I'll post updates and if I get a chance next week I'll have a join.me, and you guys can watch me try to tackle this in Zbrush and maya? I am going to fail so hard ughhh.

Anyway, step 1: Character concept and design.



I'll post more sketches and my write up later. I'm going to try to go for a stylized 3d animation film style. I'mthinking similar to Surf's Up.

I'll need ideas with naming, I'll post a description of her soon.

Okay guys. Sorry I posted this an didn't get a chance to do anything with it. You don't understand how rough this week has been. I've slept a total of 9 hours since sunday. I have had only one meal a day since like a week ago. I don't drink water much. Basically I'm falling apart.
Anyway, I've had SO MUCH DUE this week.
And now I really need to step up my working on this character!

Please tune into this thread this weekend, probably tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday for some join.me's involving me sculpting Benedict Cumberbatch's (aka my future husband's) face and also sculpting a gryphon character.

And heres a little peek at what I did in class. It's poop, but it's probably going to be her base. Not sure on poses. I'm playing with legs. Obviously she's not got legs or a tail or ears yet. I was struggling with the wings. so I spent like most of the class deciding on a pose for the wings. Haha. Okay. Anyway, here it is. Sorry for bad quality of image, it's from facebook because I don't remember where I saved the original document.



Soooo guys I hope you'll join me this weekend. with this! I'd do it now but I have a class in 30 minutes. Perhaps I can get some of Benedict's sculpting done tonight? I need to try to sleep tonight, I've gone FAR too long without a good night of sleep.

--Reason for sculpting Ben's face is because my weekend homework assignment is to sculpt a celebrity's face. And honestly... Benedict is my favorite human being omg. Anyway.... >.> if you didn't know... now you know. He is mine *hiss* (Just kidding... I'll share...)

I'm back home from college for Easter weekend.
Tomorrow and Saturday I imagine I'll be spending a bunch of time with join.me.
I would have had a join.me tonight, but I was working on the car-ride home without internet. I got a lot done tonight. I added some stuff with the beak, finally turned the legs into mesh, and started shaping the feet and stuff. Hopefully more stuff to come. This needs to be high res sculpted by Tuesday... @.@

This was a snapshot from last night. Going to be working a bit more. I'm behind, and struggling to keep up with my school stuff. Excuse me, I'm drowning.

TWO WEEKS until freedom. TWO WEEKS. This project is due on May 9th. Also have an animation project to work on due a week from tomorrow, which I'll share someday if I ever finish it @.@

I spent a ton of time learning how wings and feathers work. I know I've spent a lot of time in the past learning bird wings. But it seems I missed certain things since I was just drawing and not sculpting. They have to layer @.@ omg.

Okay, it's Friday and I'm done with classes for the semester... just need to worry about finals.
And because I'm super unlucky I had the typical 'art hell week' that all art majors experience the week before finals, and then I have 'hell week round two' because for whatever reason, my teachers never give me a break. All other art majors are done on finals week, but not me. NOT ME.
Ohhhh weellllll come watch me work? Maybe?

I'm going to call it quits on the wings.

Now to add some sort of accessory (because my instructor says a character -has- to have an accessory, but I haven't developed her enough to know what she would have. And if I had, I don't have the ability to make it...)

So instead of harness/saddle like originally wanting, she's going to have some sort of leather/fabric 'pocket strap' thing. Ive not really designed it well enough to know what that means.

Update~ umm... so yeah... the saddle/harness just kinda happened... >.>
Wish I had more time to play with it. But I'm completely out of time for sculpting. Time for decimation of polygons, then retopology (yeah I have no idea what that is either...), and then texturing...
All of that on top of my finals and I'm flailing around guys...
