A large flat rock stands in the center of a clearing, deep in the Darin Forest. A slight depression in the center appears to be the perfect size for a few Rune Stones. All are welcome here at any time of day or night.


The Summoning Stone will be present in every thread. At any time, you can post the form below to summon an Islander if you have at least two Creature Stones in your inventory. If you have any particular wish for your Islander (a specific gender or marking or coloring or stat, etc.), you may include that in the form and there's a 50/50 chance that Howl will hear your prayer. (NOTE: Only the equine+fish and the raptor+bat combo is available presently.)

Exploring the Island

Welcome to the Island. . . .
This first event will familiarize you with the website and the world of Howl's Island. If you explore the website you will discover there are 11 different Places of Note on the island.

Choose 1 place to explore in this game and post "I'm Exploring ____" in this thread. Dice roll will determine if you find anything interesting while you explore. Possible finds include premade Islanders and Rune Stones. What you might find and the odds of you finding anything are different for each of the 11 places.

More than 1 person can explore each place. Game ends August 28 20:00:00.

Writing a small rp about yourself exploring your choice of place will increase the odds of finding something, but is not required.

There's still lots more to see on Howl's Island....

Today everyone is in the Darrin Forest. The area we're exploring stretches before you. You may choose 2 places to explore in the grid, but you may only look for a certain thing in that area. If you find it, you may take it with you!

The four possible prizes are:
C = Custom Stone
P = Premade
R = Random Rune Stones (2)
S = Stones of Your Choice (2)


The prizes have been already placed on the board, but you'll have to wait til after the game for the board to be flipped over and the prizes revealed. State which two places you're searching in, and what you're trying to find there. For example:

"I'm Exploring Sadira Beach"

Waking up on the Sadira Beach, I decide to post pone my trip upriver and explore the beach a bit.  Pulling a granola bar form my pack I have that for a quick breakfast as I pack up my little camp, carefully packing everything in my pack so it won;t shift around as I walk.  Slinging my pack over my shoulders I wander around the beach, looking for shells or other washed up debris.  Once it warms up, I slip my shoes off and walk barefoot alog the oceans edge, letting the water foam around my feet.

Pulling my furs closer about myself I squint into the swirling snows.  The low visability makes it hard to tell how much further I have to walk and I hope that I am still on track and not turned about somehow.  Moving ahead a bit further I find a likely shelter in which to rest up for a short while before carrying on my way.

I'm Exploring the Deadlands.

Saturn glances back, at the more vibrant places behind her. She narrows her eyes a little, almost defiantly, as she turns back around and steps foot farther into the Deadlands. The shadow of the mountain casts a chill to the air, but the explorer ignores it. She focuses instead on looking around her as she returns her mind to the task at hand. Though the land looks inhospitable and unfriendly, looks can often be deceiving. She peers around carefully as she walks farther in, not wanting to miss anything important...

A sunny color Aquine swims up to Kadana! There's an air of festivity in the Forest today, for this is the first time the Summoning Stone has been used successfully in many long years!

I'm Exploring Darrin Forest

I decide to explore Darrin Forest for its many lakes and rivers, hoping to come across more aquatic islanders or maybe some stones. I like the Islanders I've seen and heard about, but the aquatics I feel especially drawn too. Maybe it's because I've always loved water ever since I was a little kid? The forest is beautiful with its many different trees and the sunlight hitting the ground. I wouldn't mind spending a few more days here and at a slow pace I start exploring while enjoying the sights around me.

Event 1 Reveal:

There were 4 possible prizes for this game: premade Islander, Custom Stone, 2 random Rune Stones, or 2 Rune Stones of choice. Each of the 11 places got one of these prizes randomly.

The odds of finding a prize in your spot were randomly picked to be either 1 in 2, 1 in 3, or 1 in 4. If you roleplayed your scene, I took off one number. (So a "1 in 3" spot became a "1 in 2" spot)


Event Results:

Kadana: Is so busy packing her backpack, she missed an Aquine watching her from the waves.

BabyKittenCandy: Takes shelter from the wind in a small cave, tripping over two Rune Stones inside!


Saturnalia: Is a brave soul today, but it seems like the Deadlands are not impressed, as a harsh wind suddenly whips up, burying a Custom Stone in dust before it can be seen.

YourLoveOnly: Hears laughter in a nearby river and gets splashed with water when she comes closer to take a look. Looks like a playful pastel girl has claimed her!
