They're just finishing up the opening ceremony broadcast here in the U.S.! It was super fantastic! The bit with Bond and with Mr. Bean was amazing. I also LOVED the beginning where the set changed from the countryside into the industrial age. Really looking forward to the games :D

TheLeet

The industrial age bit was awesome. I definitely enjoyed that. Otherwise I thought the whole opening ceremony was a bit hit and miss but better than I expected.

Being in London, I think I'd enjoy the Olympics more if they were held somewhere else. Let another country have the expense and inconvenience of it all >.>

Aralie

I could only catch bits and pieces of the opening ceremonies since I was working during the majority of it but I really enjoyed the switch to industrial and the bit I saw of the story stuff (Peter Pan, Mary Popins, Harry Potter)

I love the olympics but I always lose interest after the first four or five events. I just don't have the time or the energy to keep up with them. I love the opening ceremonies though. They are always at least alittle bit entertaining.

I love the Olympics, but I wish they'd give non-cable, non-satellite viewers the opportunity to watch certain events too *coughequestrianeventscough*

It looks like they might have a live online streaming of at least some equestrian events: http://www.nbcolympics.com/online-listings/day=july-28/index.html

I am probably going to have to watch some of the stuff I really want to see online.

I am going to use http://www.ctvolympics.ca/videos/index.html since it looks like they will have every event on there either live or you can watch ones that are already finished. I found the Equestrian Dressage on there and a few others I missed but want to watch ^_^

NBC will also allow you to watch the events after they have occurred. You have to be able to log in with your cable company though. I'm watching cross country right now. ;D

I am so excited for the showjumping (the "real" on-its-own showjumping, not the three-day-eventing showjumping) <3

Beezie is my favorite rider but Flexible is my favorite horse, so I don't have a favorite horse/rider team but I'll be thrilled if either of those two medal. I actually saw a lot of Olympians competing at Spruce Meadows last month including Beezie, Rich Fellers, Eric Lamaze, and Ian Miller. Just as good as London but minus the crowds XD;

Is Eric still riding Derly or did he switch to his more experienced horse? Derly refused at the 1.6m at Spruce, so I'm a bit worried for those two :/

I watched the show jumping these past two days, and i was so excited that we won! Was seriously gripping for me at the jump off, because our team had a chance at gold xD
And i don't have the problem of not being able to watch, all the olympics are on bbc for us, and then iplayer is good for catching up afterwards... if my internet would load it that is. But yeah perks of hosting the olympics :p This is the first year i've really followed them.
