Multiple accounts and Non-gaming Accounts

Hi all!

We've got more than one set of people being affected by this currently, so I'm going to make a general post about exact procedures for people who want multiple accounts, or seperate people with the same IP.

1. If you are a seperate person signing up, who has the same IP as a current player, you must PM one of the Admins (or all of us, if you like, for quicker service) stating your relationship to the other player with the same IP, and an affidavet that you are not them.  AS OF RIGHT NOW, this PM must be received from BOTH accounts, not just one.

2. Until we receive the above PMs, if we notice two accounts with the same IP, BOTH will be marked as non-gaming accounts.  Once we receive the PMs, the accounts will return to normal status.  You will NOT  be reimbursed for "lost time."

3. After the above happens, if we notice suspicious activity, such as SG regularly being sent from one account to the other, one account regularly paying for the other's SG purchases, etc., both accounts will be returned to non-gaming status.  The best way to indicate that the accounts really are seperate people who are both actively playing the site is to both be active in the forums.

So, what is a Non-Gaming Account?

A Non-gaming account is an account that can post in the forums, have pets, and send and receive SG.  It cannot, however, play games or receive the daily login SG.

IF you, for some reason, would like a seperate account on which to conduct business (I'm mostly thinking of adoptable agencies here) you may sign up for a second account and PM one of the ADMINs to request that it be marked as a non-gaming account.

And, just because some people are probably wondering, yes, the TheKennel account and the Painted Unicorns accounts are non-gaming accounts.

How is it that the non gaming account can have pets though? Whats to stop a person signing up with multiple accounts (non-gaming) and using it to claim pets from breeding seasons (like say, Quinsta) so they can claim 4 per season and not just 2 as per the rules.


I was going to have my best friend Nat, who lives with me, get a Secundi account, and initially was going to send her some funds and buy her some pets and things so she could start off the game with some things, rather than nothing at all.

If your concerned about Non-Gaming accounts having pets on them in general.. I think most people do like I do, and get the Non-Gaming account to transfer some of their pets over to, to split them up and better organize them. 

If you're just worried about people using their extra accounts to cheat and get extra pets when claiming things like Quinsta foals and such well, I think there is two parts to this.  Because you have to tell them when there is multiple accounts form the same IP/Household, and tell them which accounts, and who they belong to etc.  So they have a list of how many Gaming and Non-Gaming accounts come from the same place, and know who each account belongs to.  So say, If I went and claimed 2 Quinsta on my SGA account, if I then tried to claim 2 on my Kadana account, they would know.  But, that's where the honor system comes into play I think, because it's trusting that you will be honest about which accounts are really yours, and not say there is more people logging in then there really is, just so you can cheat and have more then one gaming account.

Basically you and the other person you share an IP with need to both PM an admin and state that you are separate people.  It's true that the system isn't able to 100% prevent cheating via multiple accounts.  But we do keep watch on those accounts who share IPs, and we especially want to see all shared IP accounts being active on the forums.

I'm not sure if Okami and I ever sent a PM stating we were siblings and as such have the same IP address, Okami is not so active on here anymore as she was only involved with TheKennel and TheCattery and they had a fairly long absence (I'm trying to get her into Quinsta but so far she's not that interested).

So should we now send PMs confirming we're separate people? Okami probably still won't be very active here unless she gets back into TheKennel or TheCattery but I'm sure a few members from/formerly from PI would remember us both, Okami is still active there to my knowledge, I quit when the new adoptable rules were enforced.

Currently I am in the U.S. visiting my family and staying with my mother. So we have the same IP address (she has her desktop and I have my laptop). She was considering getting an account to be my partner in breeding for Chestnut Friesians but I told her I didn't think she could while we are both on the same IP.

I'm not sure how long I'll be staying, waiting for my visa to be renewed to return to Saudi Arabia.
