RP Event Advice??

I've never actually participated in and RP event.  I spent many years RPing made up characters way back when, and I LOVE writing.  It's always been a release, a way for me to communicate despite how shy I use to be.  So for others who have participated in RP or especially others who have run them, what are some tips?  Does anyone have a link to a relatively easy RP to follow that could give me a guideline?

I have a feeling the Fables will be meeting Wishes and Dreams soon and our Fables are going to need to make some sort of journey to achieve this.  I would like my Forgotten Love to wonder around territories sharing her Bonding tale.  But I don't want to enter this lightly and without an idea of which way to go.

Sooo, suggestions??

Hiiya!  I sent you some examples of RP events--random moderator drop-ins and hunts--but I also want to respond more directly to your post.

This is an example of a moderator-guided exploration... Although I never read it, and I don't think it ended up accomplishing anything (oops ^^;), but it conveys the general feel of what would would be like to run a guided RP.

(difficult but fun and fulfilling?)  Maybe it would be best if you have a couple of your own characters, just to make sure that the plot can keep going even when other people suddenly get busy with RL.  But yeah... I love this stuff... Definitely want to see it happen if you decide you like it too!

Thank you!  I'm going to go reread your PM now and reply.  Then I've gotta finish the dishes.  I'm just letting them soak in some hot water for a couple of minutes.  The guided RP is what I am most interested in.  Especially since we will have to create a Bond with the Wishes/Dreams.

I've got to close up our current event... soonish.  I want to run a few more games so I can give the last user with no active points the oppertunity to make that point to keep their Fable.  I really can't see myself taking it away regardless.  I'm no good at following even my own rules. x.x

But within the next couple of weeks, I plan to devise a RP that will bring the first Wishes/Dreams into the Fabled World.
