Kittlings breeding season! (closed, naming thread for names plz)

Breeding:
To breed kittlings, you must have a male and a female. If you wish to breed with other people's kittlings, they must post permission in the appropriate forum thread.

Breeding requires a nice breeding box. Optionally, you may take one or both parents to the vet for a checkup. Vet visits will garentee that the parent is in good shape to bear offspring, and will increase the chances of healthy or even multiple young. If neither parent visits the vet, there is a chance the breeding will fail, in which case the breeding box will not be used.

Most breedings result in 2 or 3 young. Its not unheard of to have a single kit or even up to 6 in a litter.

Vet visits can be paid in PG, SG, BP, depending on what is listed in the thread as payment options at that time. The appropriate vet voucher is always accepted in lue of payment.

Only one person should send in the owners form. If multiple people are combining resources for a breeding, one person posts owners form, and anyone else involved posts permission form.

at this time, I dont have graphics for the items, or for kittens. please be aware that newborn kittlings will come into the world full grown, until I get baby lines!

you only need 1 breeding box per breeding. Better boxes help reduce stress of mother kittlings and eases her labor. Boxes work for kittlings or cousins.

Snuggly little breeding box: 1K SG
Fluffy lined breeding box: 2K SG
Velvet plushy breeding box: 5K SG

vet visits are optional, details are in first post.

female kittlings vet visit: 1000 SG
male kittling vet visit 500 SG

female cousin vet visit: 1500 SG
male cousin vet visit: 1000 SG


This option is for people who dont have enough kittlings, or just like a random element to thier breedings. You may "hire a mate". You dont get to see what your mate will look like beforehand. You can choose to hire a male and a female to mate together even if you have no kittlings of your own.

Female kittling mate: 1000 SG
Male kittling mate: 500 SG

Female cousin mate: 1500 SG
Male cousin mate: 1000 SG

for those who want actual details on how it works.. base value for babies per breeding is 2. each adult that does *not* go to the vet reduces the odds of getting more then 1 by 20%, so if neither parent goes to the vet, you only have a 60% chance of getting a 2nd baby. (not counting beds)

Basic bed (snuggly) doesnt change percentages at all. Fluffy bed increases baby rate by 20%, and Plush increases the total to 40%.

So, if you have plushy bed (+40%) and both parents visit the vet (no -), you have 100% chance of getting the base 2 babies, and a +40% of getting a third. If you do get the third, theres a 20% chance of a 4th. If you get the 4th, its a 10% chance of a 5th, and if you get that, its a 5% chance to get 6! It caps at 6, no matter how well the dice are rolling.

So, basically, I start with 2, and add/subtract percent based on what you chose. Each time your roll says you get another baby, the percent is halved, and try again for additional babies.

babies will show thier little faces in this post, one at a time, slowly, somewhere between 3 and 7 days after thier parents breed. Ill post the parents ID and the owners names above each section of babies. Once your name is in BLUE, it means there are no more babies coming from that set.

You are free to buy/sell/trade babies whenever you wish. at this time, there is no fee for doing so. I may introduce a small recerting fee in the future if I cant keep up with trades, but I doubt that will happen.

right now its a 1 breeding per pet thing, assuming they get exhausted "romping around" together.

allowed as many as you can afford heh.

and yes, you can take hired pets to the vet as well.

you can also ask other players for pets to breed with, of course. its very rare that only 1 baby is born to a breeding. whoever pays for the breeding box gets first pick of the litter, just standard practice, unless that person opts out of this privilage.

OOh, I should add this, I forgot to earlier.. it may take up to 1 week for the bred pair to give birth. that gives me time to color them up even if i get them colored today, Im still gonna be a meany and make ya wait a couple days for them to show thier noses aaaand, they give birth to 1 kitten at a time, cuz Im insufferably mean and enjoy making you check back with anticipation repeatedly. I feel that makes the moment they arrive more exciting

FYI anyone interested, any short hair parent can result in any short hair pose baby, same for long hair. However, things that are "breeds" will only ever come from parents of that breed, example, bobcat, american curl, scottish fold, ect.

FYI, on wild X wild breedings, since they are technically related, Im trying to make them the same gender, so there will be no future accidental inbreeding between the 2. I guess thier children will be an exception to any future inbred rules lol
