Dove (http://www.secundi.net/critterpage.php?ID=136228) should have a second place ribbon from May conformation, and Djamilah (http://www.secundi.net/critterpage.php?ID=308436) of course just got a second place in July Agility.

(If you're not adding ribbons to profiles any more, feel free to slap me upside the head with a herring.  XD)

Super Old Litters
I've ended up saying "ok no more super old litters" like four times now. I don't want to be mean, and I don't want to be unfair, but Secundi has been around for 10 months as of now. That is more then enough time to migrate over here. Because I don't want to have a bunch of ungrown puppies however here is the new way to get super old puppies grown.

1. Get all of your dogs imported. I will not grow puppies if their parents belong to you and they aren't in Secundi. If they belong to someone else that's fine.

2. Get a breeding slot when they open.

3. Instead of posting a breeding you can post the image of the ungrown puppies. I will grow them for you.

Easy right? I think this is the most fair way to go about this, because previously I was punishing active members by taking up time to grow old litters. This way you have to work a little, but they can be grown.

**If you are an owner who had a trade with someone and they have ungrown super old puppies, you can grab the breeding slot as well. You will need to work that out with them. Also if there is a new trade with someone they could grab a slot, but only someone directly involved with the litter can claim a breeding slot to get the puppies grown.**

ETA: Litters posted in the clean up thread are exempt...I'm working on those right now.

Cattery is mine, yes; though it is a much more relaxed, and slow adoptable at the moment.  And has its own account, so as not to stir up the doggies with random cats running through the kennels

Woow! You did a lot of work Taru! I also think the new system for litters is really clever. It keeps the option to grow old stuff, but doesn't drag staff back ^^

I also had a question about a fun idea I had when turning in tag-its:
Would it be okay to post two dogs and let the colorist color a dog based on the combination of those two dogs? It's kinda like a breeding, so I know it might not be allowed, but I thought it would be a fun way for users to combine the coats of dogs of different breeds and it also gives a colorist lots of room to play with since they only need to color one dog and no reference they need to mimic. I understand if this is not allowed, I was just wondering (I also understand that if it is allowed, some colorists may still not want to do this). And would it use up a gold or regular tag?

That sounds like it would be a lot more work. Trying to combine two coats is what makes litters take so long. I wouldn't be up for coloring tags like that, but maybe we could do an event at some point where that was what happened. Tags are supposed to be quick and easy, and regular tags are supposed to be semi-customs, so yeah. I personally wouldn't allow you to post a tag like that, but I'm not the only colorist in the kennel.

I thought maybe it would be okay for golden tags, as people sometimes ask for crazy things when turning those in XD I personally love coloring breedings (although I can imagine for realistic pets it would be harder than pets that don't have coloring restrictions), but I know every colorist prefers other stuff ^^

ETA: I too like coloring breedings, but when I am doing 10 or more breedings a month with 3-7 puppies per breeding, I want to keep the work required to only doing those breedings, not have to worry that everyone is going to be looking for one puppy breedings from tags.

Sorry YLO, but I wouldn't take a "tag" like that either.  Breedings have their place and it's in the breedings slots, not in the tag slots.  If you want to know what two dogs' pups would look like as done by us, get the parents done as tags, then get a breeding slot and breed them.  If you don't want to "burden us" with doing several pups, use an appropriately small sized bed.

Mostly it's people finding the most insane dog coats they can. The hard part is when I am given a small dog as a reference picture and asked to put the coat on a large dog, or vice versa.


That dog is one of the banes of my existence >.> Mostly because the reference doesn't provide for the whole coat...so I just make it up lol.

The idea sprouted when I had several Kennel dogs mimiced a couple of times, like my chi Nanda and afghan Baraka and bred those mimics. It made me wonder what Kennel puppies they would produce, but I won't crossbreed so that wasn't possible ;-)

And yea I did use smaller beds a few times when breeding my poms and chis so you guys wouldn't have to color a bazillion puppies ^^

While I'm thinking about it, what color might Holly be? I wanted to say red and white bicolor at first, but she looks to have some tan or silver on her. Is that deliberate or just the result of shading?
