Race 5

The horses are being loaded into the starting gates, the crowd watching anxiously as they wait for all horses to be loaded and off. As the last horse gets settled in, number 12, Balance Beam , the crowd goes silent. Now all can be heard are a few shrill whinnies and then a beep of the buzzer, the slamming of the starting gates opening. The sudden rush of hooves can be heard and the announcer over the speakers "And they're off!"

The crowd stand in their place, cheering on their horse, hoping for theirs to place. As the horses come round the next bend, it is a close call, the horses putting in all their effort and heart. As it comes to the last stretch, the crowd can be seen and heard surely for miles, but to the horse, all they can hear is the sound of their own heartbeat as they charge their way towards the finish line. The announcer shouts over the speakers "And here comes Balance Beam, charging through on the inside and would you look at that, charging by with 2 lengths to take first place, Kipty's Sheeny Gold coming in second and Rising Phoenix coming third by a close call. What an effort from such amazing thoroughbreds!"
