.:. Whimsicalia .:. Interest Thread?

Since these adoptables are still in the works and not released yet, I'm simply copying the interest thread I set up in PI. ^_^

I'm still trying to decide the best setup for our adoptable website so we don't have one still. When I'm ready to launch our world, we'll have the website and forum done.

Hi there. ^_^ I've been working hard on building my adoptable world, Whimsicalia, the past few weeks by getting commissions, sketches, linearts and such from different artists. I wanted to only launch it when I have everything completed but it would take more than half a year if I would do that. So I decided to see if I could do it piece by piece, with each aspect of our world told whenever the art for it has been finished.

I can color and  I have no problems imagining something and picturing it vividly. The problem is my hand is not as good in drawing what I imagine into actual art. xD I'm still trying to improve and I know that the quality I want for Whimsicalia is still far from what I can do myself so I get arts commissioned and buy sketches/templated pets and items from different artists when I have extra funds. 

We have a few linearts already but they still need to get templated so they will not be released just yet. <3

Okay, we've just added our new bird friends, the Fahreyas. There is no distinction between different genders in the lines, so the ID would indicate the gender. M# adnd F# would indicate whether its male of female. In the case of our ancient spirit, Fah-Reya, it shows that she is female with ID #1.



Shahiyas are very shy but loving creatures. They love hiding and covering their faces with their fluffy tails so most of the time you will only see them peeking through their tail. It is not known if they will ever fully reveal their whole face to their owners. Only time will tell. <3

It's very easy to distinguish their genders, male Shahiyas have horns while the females don't.

I'm still not done with the actual ingredients requirements for the recipes so it might change once I think of a much better ratio. Collecting recipes and ingredients would play a huge part in getting a Whimsicalia critter. Marguerite is one of the most important characters in Whimsicalia. She prepares and bakes the basic goodies you will use to befriend a Whimsicalia critter, no matter who tries to catch them (Xaki, Marik, Keno, Neka).

On my stay in PI, I have been coming up with different story ideas and island settings especially when I wanted to join the world building before in Azuyan. I lose interest every now and then so a new idea gets born. A few weeks ago, I sat down and it hit me how wonderful it would be to connect these ideas and stories together into one world. Thus, Whimsicalia was born.

Whimsicalia is very special to me because it connects every story idea I've had and my characters who I've grown to love reside in this world. Everything happens in this world according to my whims.

It has two important regions, the Enlightened West and the Forbidden East. The western region is the area known to all because most of the planned pets we have right now lives in this region. The eastern region is filled with mysteries and only a few of the species (like the Sotters) that live there have been discovered.

Area division:

A. Enlightened West
a. Mainland (Whimsy Isle) has all the main NPC shops and would have some special enchanted spots

b. Northern Lands (more commonly known as Dulcinean Isles has been known for its two major sections, the Candyland and Daryl Frust's Organic Orchards & Fresh Produce Farm)
- Candyland has Gummy Hills and Buttermilk Lake
- Organic Orchards Farm land covers wide area for all important ingredient harvests

c. Southern Lands (Unidentified and undiscovered but some reports say some sort of flying creatures have been spotted near here so it has been called Skiesian Isles. Tagoe Guibat, a large dense forest serves as an entryway to the mountainous areas of the Skiesian Isles.)

B. Forbidden East
a. Northern Lands (Unidentified and unknown still but legend speaks of the Vulcan Isles being situated in this area)
b. Middle Lands [Agua Encantia Isles, Encantia Ruins plus the other 5 Encantia Isles)
c. Southern Lands (Same with the northern lands but legend speaks that the Kristalian Isles is located here.)

Each of the characters play an important role in our world. Different characters handle different creatures, and the shops play an important role in providing the ingredients and items you need to gather before you can get one of our Whimsicalia critters. Below are some rough information about what shops they run and their occupations. I'll edit more information soon.

Right now our first objective is to get our NPCs done using the bases created by Calomel, but extremely personalized to match their shops. So no other human avatars adopted by players will look like them. While we don't have them yet, we'll be keeping their Elouai references:

I have simple sketches of some of the shops but I change my mind a lot about how it would look because I want everything to be perfect. xD In the next posts I might include some of my sketches and ideas in case anyone is interested. <3

Doll bases are finished. Adults are not shown yet because they are only wearing underwear as bases. We still need to work on getting them templated plus I have to commission hair and clothes bases so humans will not be launched anytime soon.

I have been able to purchase a few small items that would be used in the recipes and other future events. I already have some vials which was purchased from shiinxa in VPL. Once I get some funds, I'll have her start again on the other items I had commissioned.

Many items will be purchased (if I can't make them myself) which will fill the NPC shops every now and then, especially during events.

Well I had been brainstorming for the past few weeks and I even managed to start a test forum to see if it would work as a good way to manage the NPC shops. Its a daunting task with so many NPCs so I've currently put a hold on it. I also wanted to see if there was any interest before I actually pushed through making the forum since I don't want it to be wasted. ^_^

In case many get interested in our world, I would definitely get the forums running before we have an RP event. I really would love to have Whimsicalia active with RPs so it would make it easier to manage if it was run on our own forums. These RPs would earn you some Whimsicalia currency which can be used to purchase ingredients and items.

Suggestions?

Well that is the information I have right now. In case any of you have suggestions, I would definitely love to hear about it. <3 I'm going crazy already since I've been doing all the brainstorming myself since December. >.< I even record myself when I talk about it, then play it back so I can see what may be improved or changed in the ideas I've come up with. >.<

In case you are interested in them, could you help provide me with possible pricing information? I haven't thought about pricing honestly because I'm a bit busy trying to figure out how to get all my planned creatures done. xD I still have a lot of sketches and linearts that needs to be templated, so I have a lot of work ahead.

If you could provide a guestimate, around how much are you willing to pay for them?
