SG/PG Currency Conversion Help

OK I know I asked this in the past, shortly after coming here form PI.  But Secundi was so new then, that there really wasn't any good way to decide.  Since we as a site are more established now, I am hoping I can get a rough estimate of the value of PG vs SG.

I must note, in case it makes a difference, that this is in no way for anything to do with trading PG for SG.  This is strictly for my adoptable shop, to aid me in converting old PG prices and values of things over to SG prices and values.

So the simplest (for me) I guess would be to ask How many SG equals 1 PG?

This doesn't have to be a legalized, set in stone conversion ratio that the whole site uses, I do know values and prices will fluctuate with time, and depending on the parties doing any given transaction.

I just need a rough estimate/basis to use for m y shop.  So atm would you say I should value PG or SG higher, or should I value them equally at a 1 to 1 rate of exchange?

I'll be interested in seeing opinions form everyone, before I decide what exchange rate I will use.

Once I get that figured out, I can fix my currency files.  Any advice/help is appreciated.

They should be equal but I don't think they are. People here pay far more for customs when I do a pick your own price then I think PI would. So personally I value PG higher than SG.

Thanks for the imput guys. 

And this is kinda why I asked Spo, because I know PG is sold often for USD, and I don't think/remember SG ever being done so, simply because most people have more then enough and no one seems to want it too much for their adopts and such.  So I figured the majority of people would value PG as higher then SG.

For myself, I value SG as higher then PG, but then I don't really value PI at all so.. outside imput is helpful

That said, with only 3 opinions given, it does make it a larger vote for keeping the rates equal.  I know 3 people don't make up the user base of Secundi, but there are over 40 views of this thread and only the 3 responses.  So not much I can do about it except to assume that people either agree with what is posted, or just don;t care one way or the other.

I'll have to think about this, I definitely don't want to set things up one way and then have to turn right around and change them anyway.

I haven't had an account on PI in a long time, but from what i remember PG is valued higher than SG. I couldn't help for a conversion though, and i think that's likely why some others haven't commented as well

I could not think of a good conversion.  I don't know that they are equal, as it does seem slightly easier to get SG (to me).  I could agree with them being roughly equal for a conversion, simply because I have a hard time making any significant quantities of either, and I doubt I am the only one with this issue. Not running any (active) adoptable, it is much harder to accumulate either form of currency (even with the SMIS, I can never seem to really gain any, though it does work better than the PI bank thing).  I never have the quantities of SG to throw around that some people seem to, as becomes very clear during some of the few auctions I participate in (not having a lot of SG, I generally can't come close to competing in them)

I also think PG is valued higher because it is used for more. Ponies, vetting, contesting, items, artwork, everything that you can use PG for over there. Here on Secundi SG is mainly used for adoptables and a lot of adoptables don't use SG or use minimal SG and some USD.

Thanks guys, and I wasn't complaining really, I did assume it was something like people either don;t frequent PI anymore/ever did, or just don't care.

It's not a "huge" deal, but SGA was always meant to have it's own currency in the form of gems and such.  I never got to finish having all the gems made, but I have found the set of pearls and wanted to get them incorporated.  I had a "price guide" set up for how much PG each pearl was worth, simply as a basis for knowing the pearl's value.  I need to get that switched to SG value instead is all.  Then if these work out well, I can try and think about getting more gems commissioned.

Also PG is used to help create your ponies (since you can buy BP for PG) there is nothing on secundi that can be intrinsically created, so SG really has no value in comparison.

okay I see that on PI 1 million PG = $4 usd
so that is 250,000pg = $1 usd

if you were to compare to sg, which nobody will pay USD for but for this we will give it a value
$1 usd = $2 million sg

so that would be 1 million pg = $4 usd = 8 million sg
so 250,000 pg would = about 2 million sg

now some people may value a little lower, so you may have to poll a few people to figure out what they would in theory pay for sg.  The biggest issue is you can earn quite a bit of sg in games

Well, you can do the Horses that way. However, as they aren't any more special than other adopts, I think people prefer to wait for ridiculously high auctions (Silv's Luestin auctions come to mind) than squander their hoard on sg sinks.

LOL  I was going to say, I think Silv made the Luestin auctions initially as an SG sink as well.  Then I saw your post and it cracked me up

I will say this, I do like my SG.  And I am a hoarder.  I cannot stand looking at my account and seeing what (to me at least) appears to be a broke bank account.  I have slightly more then 10 mil SG atm, and I feel BROKE.  It is a drop in the proverbial bucket compared to what I had before 1. comps were taken down to be fixed 2. SMIS was changed to the 1 mil limit (I can't even break 100k in there now lol), and 3. Luestin auctions were started.  SO the main way I get SG now is from the comps, and at no where near the rate I used to as I don;t have the time/energy to come on every 2 to 3 days and re-enter them all.  It was easier (for me, not the server I know, no complaints here mind you! just facts lol) when we could enter a full weeks comps all at once. 

So my SG earnings are significantly less then what they were before, which is probably better for the site over all anyway, if not my own peace of mind XD

But yes, if it were left to me, SG would be valued higher then PG ever was, simply because I hold PI/PG with zero value at all.  But it doesn't matter overly much in the end, as I said before it was just so I could get a base line, for how to value my shops currency.  And hopefully I can eventually get more then just the pearls.  but for now, pearls is it.  *goes back to her notepad to try and finish writing stuff she's late on posting*

Wow!  @_@  10 million SG, and you're broke?  I have just over 800k, with 560k in SMIS right now.  .  Most of what I do have came from the comps, but I don't have the time/patience/energy to re-enter them all the time.  For some reason, even a full days worth doesn't show up for me.     Of course, more SG would be nice, but aside from contests, and SMIS, I have no way whatsoever of getting more.
