The day Sculli got to meet some of the most famous Gypsy Vanner horses in the world.  I was given a gift by my partner Leisa that included an over night stay and a tour of the Gypsy Gold Farm in Ocala, FL.  For those who do not know Dennis Thompson, along with his wife were the first folks to bring and establish the Gypsy Vanner Society to America.  They worked years to get the approval of the European traveler communities to breed a standard of horse that honor and respects the vision of the travelers secretly bred horses....and thus the Gypsy Vanner Horse was brought to the US....but that's back story....my story is I fell hard, deeply madly and passionately for these horses.  The very first pictures I ever saw were of Cushti Bok, Road Sweeper and The Gypsy King.  They took my breath away, they struck a cord so deep I felt it in my soul...I knew I had to see them.  Today I did...two of the three horses that gripped my heart..(Road Sweeper passed on about a year ago of heart failure)

The Moment we turned onto this 40 acre ranch and ssaw a black and white figure in the paddock I knew...I KNEW it was the Gypsy King...I started to cry.  I felt right there my skin was the only thing keeping me together.
We met Susan and facility manager and we began talking and she took me to meet Bill (The Gypsy King) before the tour started...
Across the walk area two mares saw use and trotted over to say hi...they were Fred Walker and Shampoo Girl...
and Freddie stuck her face in mine and said hi...
I met fantastic horses like Sweeping Beauty and King William (calendar Mr February 2013) and Mule Moms long before the rest of the tour got there.  The folks at Gypsy Gold are wonderful thank you all.  Then I got to meet him...Cushti Bok, The first Registered Gypsy stallion in the Gypsy Vanner Society.  I forget that he was so small.  At 22 yrs of age his age is beginning to show...They said he has Heaves and they are trying to keep hi weight on, but he is in a delicate way...friendly to a fault this little stallion was awesome.
(Im nearly 6 ft tall and as wide as a house so size in pic is skewed)
on the tour we met BB King another famous Gypsy Stallion...whos got his owner trained very well....He has an EPIC mustache and is a true character.

We also met scarlet Macaws and Blue macaws and a ringed tail lemur name Molly or "Moveit" as well as a free ranged donkey named "Hodey"..Donkey Hodey...get it?

We bought swag and I talked their ears off and cried alittle more....then I drove home and jumped on the internetz and came here and facebook.

Happy New Year!

One of the strangest things....I play LoTRo and recently got my war steed.  I immediately got the Tobiano hide and painted him black...his name is Billabong or Bill for short...I didn't know that the original name for The Gypsy King was Bill....and everyone around the barn still calls him that.

My Bill

Awesome! I met Kuchi (first U.S-born Gyspy; daughter of The Gypsy King) a few years ago at Breyerfest. She was too cute!

Fantastic that you got to visit that farm. :)
