Hello friends--

There have been a lot of changes in my life recently, and one of the big ones is that I now do some work with the life energies of the universe-- I've taken two levels of Reiki Healing Energy training, and I also work with crystals, meditation, and tarot and oracle card readings.

I'm definitely not a master in this field--in fact, I feel like I'm still a novice! But it is definitely an interesting sphere of influence to find oneself in. I'm finding myself very happy here. ^_^

I just got a new Oracle deck that I'm starting to learn to work with. (An oracle deck is like a tarot card deck, but a bit different. While tarot card decks are used for asking questions about your future, oracle decks are more for looking inside yourself and getting encouragement/advice about your life.)

In order to learn how to work with my deck a bit more, I'd like to offer a free reading to anyone who replies to this thread. I will take a photo of my cards as I lay them out, and interpret the reading for you.

This is just for fun, but I hope it brings you guys some enlightenment! <3

That's neat. I've always been interested in this sort of thing and wished I knew how to do readings. I would be very interested in a reading.  I've never had one done before

Bwa ha ha, my first victim! -cough cough- I mean, hi, Country! 

Let us begin!

This is my reading station. The crystals create a field that helps me center. The rough purple stones on the left and right are amethyst. That's the type of crystal that speaks to me the most and I always use. It's my birthstone and also the one that calls the most to me in the new age shops I visit. The dark purple stone sitting on top of the deck is fluorite. It's a stone I use for inspiring creativity and insight. And the clear ones around the edge of the table are crystal quartz, they create a positive energy field and help in concentration.


This is what I say to the Cards:

Spirits- Help me share your message with the person I know as Country. I have known her for many years and she is kind, fun, and never gives up. Allow me to read and express the information you want her to have tonight.

The spread I do is a very simple--like I said, I'm still a novice. It's called the 'shadow and light' spread. This 3-card set up shows you a part of yourself that is in shadow (the card on the upper left) and a card that is in light (the card on the upper right). Now being in shadow is not necessarily a bad thing. Your shadow is a part of you, even if it is in darkness. But an aspect of yourself in shadow might be something you need to give more attention to in your life, or something you have dismissed that you need to reconsider. The part of you that is in light is an aspect of yourself that is one of your strengths and should be celebrated.

The third card, on the bottom between the two, will show you how to bring these two parts of yourself, you shadow and your light, together so your life is in harmony. I'll post Country's cards in the next post!

So this is your shadow card. It's called "Hear the Ancient Ones." The card image is an old man or woman with long white hair and a river flowing from his/her mouth, bathing a young sapling tree. This card represents the knowledge that our elders have to share with us. Whether that could be your parents and grandparents, or your ancestors, or even the ancient primitive people who lived on this planet before modern days. People who have lived for a long time have gained a lot of wisdom that they can share with us younger people, if we care to listen. Having this as your shadow card is telling you that you might need to listen to some advice from your elders or your past.

Haha!! Okay, now the cards are teasing you. Your light card is called "Letting Go of the Old." The image is a peacock with feathers that are slowly turning to gold. This card is saying that one of your greatest strengths is to live in the moment and not be bogged down by the past. You don't cling to old things but instead look ahead to the future.

Your last card, the one to tell you how to bring your shadow and light together, is the "Know Your Power" card. The image is of a starry horse constellation with a fiery mane, which is appropriate because a horse is such a strong animal. They are the perfect balance of power and grace, because they are in control of their strength. This card is all about telling you that you are in control of your own life. You have the knowledge and the strength to make your own choices, the right choices. To be a wild horse or to accept a bridle and be a tame one. I think this card, along with the other two, is telling you that you need to keep a balance between looking ahead to your future and also looking behind you and honoring your past. Don't forget that your past is an important part of you and must not be forgotten. But you have the strength to do all this and make the right decisions.

Oh this is awesome. I actually have several reasons for all of the cards XD past experiences that I have not let go of and still struggle with trying to resolve. Thankfully i am getting closer to resolving the biggest and most troublesome. I also have a lot of questions about my family history. I've been told multiple times to listen and my push will be made clear. BUT I'm stubborn... Guess that would be where the last card comes into play. XD thank you so much! This was very interesting!
