*squee!* my first ever!  I've always wanted char art done of my chars, especially my main/fav char.  But never found anyone willing to take on the task.  I finally did! It won't be a tryptych (or however you spell/call them) as they aren't good with humanoids.  So just her panther form, but still.. I'm so super happy and can't wait to see it.. even though it just was ordered! rofl  Now the waiting is going to slay me lol

Lol I know the feeling X3 I've had a few pieces drawn of my characters over time.... (some were simply amazing) and the waiting is just plain murder XD .....Well for me the waiting is usually spent finishing their half of the art trade XD

lol well, I'm trying to hatch an egg, so I can trade them the hatchie in place of it.  But they are helping me hatch it so.. course, I had to spend usd to get the egg rofl but yea my end of the deal was fairly easy and painless.

lol well, she's actually an elven were panther.  She was created originally back in 1998 to 2000 sometime (exact timeline escapes me now) when I was first introduced to dungeons and dragons.  I got to play just a short bit (3 game sessions to be exact, two sessions IRL (2nd & 3rd edition rules) and one online via a chat room (1st edition rules)).  So basically, just enough to tease me and get me hooked lol

After that I started creating my own character, a background for her and everything, planning to have her ready for whenever I found a new group to play with.  I ended up with a background history six pages long (and still incomplete) and never did find another group to play in.

I started creating her in online games, ones that claimed to be Rp.  In each new game, her story (reason for why she is a werepanther) changed a bit, to help her fit into whatever new world I was trying to cram her into. 

Then I met a kid in one of those games, and he saw me trying to Rp with folks that just wanted to log on, kill each other and log off.  He took me to a different game, where Tychina got to thrive in all her glory, as well as her siblings, and some of the family friends form her original story.  But a day came when that game went to hell, admins got into fights with all the older members, and the older members all quit.  I still don't know what they fought about.  But it was the downfall to a really great game.  Because after that, it turned into just another PK mill. 

The same kid who took me there, introduced me to MUD's.  And he showed me this game called FK (Forgotten Kingdoms).  So I downloaded a free copy of Zmud and checked it out.  And fell in love.  It's a game based on the D&D FR (Forgotten Realms) books.  You CAN do PK there, but they have very strict RP rules in place.  (Or they did, I've not played in a couple of years sadly).

Of course, I had to tweak her story once again for that game, and at the time I knew nothing of the FR world, so I had to grab some books to try and learn.  I was also informed if I wanted to play a special character (ie a werepanther) I had to apply for it to get permission.  I needed to play the game for a bit before applying, so they could see how i RP.  I was actually in that stage ready to apply, when something happened to make me take a break form the game.  It was only meant to be a break, but somehow I never went back.

Tychina is very quirky and fun to play, and I've always meant to get some art done of her.  I've just had trouble finding the right person to do it.  She's unusual, but doesn't stand out overly much.  Which is nice for folks like me who are a bit more shy about jumping into things.  Ty isn't shy though.  She's.. prickly lol  And deadly.  She's an Elven werepanther, a proffessional "aqcuisitions expert" (thief) and an "expert problem solver" (assassin).  She follows the God Mask from the FR world and is very extremely devoted to him.  She doesn't make friends often or easily, but the friends she does have she's very loyal to and highly protective of.  She's very secretive, comes with the lifetime of hiding her animal nature form folks.  Only a few people have guessed at her duel nature, and even less know for certain about it.  She dislikes females.  Not like, romanticlaly, but in general, she only has one female acquaintence whom she doesn't fully despise.  All the rest she just sneers at behind their backs, and pretends to be nice to.. if she even bothers pretending.  She's a flirt, and flirts with just about any man she meets (no matter what he looks like).  It's gotten her in some sticky situations before, and it was kinda fun (if frantic) trying to get her out of them without completely alienating the guys.

hngh.. it looks like I'm writing a book, and I'm not sure people even want to know this much so I'll shut up now.  Sorry for going on, I just.. really miss her heh if that makes sense.

unfortunately not.  The artist doing her panther form says S/He isn't good with humanoids.  Willing to try, but.. she's very special to me, I want it to be perfect.  So I shall continue to wait to find someone to make her in her elven form, as well as in her partially changed form.

It's a bit interesting, in her elven form she has scars.  (I know, elves don't normally scar, I've been told and told).  But the key word is normally.  And well, I think being eaten by a dragon would leave scars on anyone lol  (Yes, that happened during an RP on the mud lol) I can tell you the story of that if you like.. Just be warned, as evidenced above, it's hard for me to know when enough is enough when telling about her hehe

Anyway, here is her description, so you can see where the scars should be.  I asked him to place them on her panther form, in the form of lighter colored fur, but I wasn't sure where theywould go on the cat shape, so left that to him lol

~~Graceful and quiet, her movements are calculated, swift and sure, with never a
doubt or a wasted motion. Her almond shaped feline eyes give the illusion of
shifting color from yellow to green. Long coal black lashes contrast sharply against the soft pale skin of her face. Muscles smooth and lithe, small, compact, almost feline like. Long silky black hair gathered up into a thick braid can be seen hanging down past her waist, or sometimes, pulled over her shoulder to rest against her breast.

If seen without her clothes, one can see scars that appear to have been made by
rather large teeth marring the front and back of her torso and legs. The lines of
scar tissue are rough and jagged, and beginning to whiten, showing that they are not a recent wound.~~

I'm not very good with descriptions I know, and it could use some work/tweaking.  Part of that though is because I've allready had to "tweak and change" her so many times to fit within various game rules.  Her original description, unedited, was used on a strictly adults only MUD, and I won a prize for it.  I still thought it needed work, but then I did/do want her to be perfect lol

Awww that's a shame. Well it's still a cool picture. I hope the scars show up well in the final product! That makes it more like a unique picture of your character alone and less like just a pic of a general black panther (a pink mohawk would fix that! XD I'm guessing it's a bit out of character though eh? )

I play D&D elves fairly regularly, and I don't think I have ever been told they don't scar O.o

I think your description of her is awesome though, and her backstory sounds well-thought out (coming from a person whose husband insists on good backstory for his players' characters XD)

lol yea, a pink mohawk would deffinately be out of character.  She hates pink.  It's too soft, and girly lol  I really do hope the scars show up.  I asked him to make them visible, but subtle.  But it's also suposed to be a very dark night scene, so I'm not so sure in hindsight how well they will show up, if at all.  But the rp where she acquired them was quite long (over a month) so they are very much an integral part of her now.  She's also supposed to be slightly larger then a reguler panther, but again not sure if that will be able to be seen in the pic, with nothing to referance size against.


Really?  Well, as I said I didn't have much experience playing D&D until the FK mud.  In the 3 previous "sessions" I played half elves.  And the subject of scars never came up.. though in the first ed rules session I played, my char was a bit off in the head..  But then again she'd been trapped in a bottle for hundreds of years, so she had a right lol  And no, I did NOT create her char background info, she was a pre-created char made by the DM, and quite.. interesting to try and play O.O

Anyway, in Fk, whenever some poor soul would try and put any scars on their elven character, everyone would pipe up that elves don't generally scar.  Something about it taking exceptional circumstances for any wound they obtained to not heal fully with no mark.  And it "kind of" made sense, atleast the way it was explained there.  Between their being magical and having natural healing abilities or such, and all the priests around to heal your char (and revive them form death etc)..  But when she got eaten by the dragon, when she was "brought back and healed" I figured that was enough of extenuating circumstances to leave cars.  Any one bitten in half by a dragon imo is going to scar, no matter how magical a creature you are.  And yea, I actually had to argue that with a mod.. In the end, it was my application to rp my character as a werepanther that made them cave and say "Ok, she could conceivably scar".  Their reasoning?  She has tainted blood, form being a were.  Funny, *I* thought were creatures healed with no scars lol but whatever, I got to keep my scars and was happy enough not to say anything

And thank you both so much!  It makes me feel good.  Her original description was imo so much better.  But it was pointed out to me that a description shouldn't have "actions" in it, nor should it "tell the viewer what they are thinking".  And I can understand that, I can, but it read so much better before.

Sounds like you had some very "particular" mods/DMs...

Technically, I think the way it tends to work in D&D, anytime I've played anyways, the only time they wouldn't scar would be if they were resurrected by a healer/cleric.  Since a "true res" only requires a small portion of the body, if any, it is basically creating you a brand new body.  Anything else is just repairing the body, which would leave a scar, where the flesh knit back together.

But, each group can amend the rules to fit "their" version of the game/world, so that group probably had things the way they preferred it.  I've never actually played online RP with D&D, so I don't have any experience there, unfortunately :/

Experience with random DM made characters, that I do know.  My husband has a fun randomizer he made up, and that was a very fun game.  Half-orc paladin with a gnome fetish, who was a "dancer" on the side.  She was quite fun to play XD  One of the NPCs was Moo-chael Flatley, minotaur bard... and then there was the Disco dragon >.>

lol yes they were very particuler.  Something about a need to stick to the "reality" of the Forgotten Realm books.  Which of course I had never read at that point!  I guess it made sense (sticking to the story "reality" though, since they had some of the FR writers popping into the forums and stuff.  It was apparently a "sanctioned, legal game"  I never knew thre could be illegal rp games, it was all new news to me.

And yea, I bumped heads with the PTB quite often in my Rp's.  Once my application to play her as a werepanther was in, and I was told they needed to watch me rp for a while because I was new to the game/world I started RP'ing her "quirks".  Problem is a lot fo those quirks came from her being a werepanther.  So I got smacked down for rping her as a were when I hadn't been approved yet.  I wasn't, not really.  Even a human could have the quirks she had.  Granted, a very gross and excentric human maybe lol  When I pointed that out, and pointed to real life history of serial killers and such as examples of real humans with certain quirks.. yea they weren't pleased.  I was never sure if they were more P'Od that I used serial killers and such as examples, or that they couldn't find a way to refute me.. but i the end I won, and she kept her quirks.  All of which could be explained away, in some way.. but all of which, if my application was approved and people found out what she was, they could look back and see that there had been signs/clues all along.

So her eye teeth were a little.. sharper then normal, and her eyes "appeared" to change color.  She had the incessant curiosity of a cat (which got her in all sorts of trouble!) and she liked to eat her meat raw.  Though she did try to "hide" the fact she did that form people, one or two of her closer acquaintences did catch her doing it, which in itself made for more fun rp lol

And being it was a mud, it was programmed in for your char to get hungry.. and you could die of starvation.  So yea, she had to eat, and sometimes that was her excuse for eating it raw.. she was just too hungry to wait lol

Oh yea, she also hated magic users.  They make her sneeze.. something about them she is allergic too (though it's speculated that its all in her head lol).. but has no problem using magical items..  She has a respect for priests (even if she doesn't like (or even hates) the particular person in question) she respects them for what they are. 

And finally.. the two biggies.. she thinks she is under a curse, that her entire family line was cursed in fact, to mate for life.  She refers to it thusly, as her curse.  Even though she believes it is because of what she is.. (I never actually decided/found out if it was true.. the mating for life bit lol or if it truly was in her mind).. and.. she thinks she's in love with her God.  truly, honestly believes it.  Despises people for serving him out of fear or greed, and tries to "set them straight" and make them come to love him.  Failing that, if she thinks they are unworthy, she kills them -.-
