Quinsta: Keilin Alyr's Vanners and Clydes for Breed!

Looks like I finally have enough Quinsta to justify a consolidated thread. =)

I specialize in very short-lined and beautiful Quinsta, with a primary focus on non-tobiano Gypsy Vanners (my first Quin, Loear'turran, being the odd exception), mainly because I enjoy the challenge of breeding both. This is also the proud home of Chanda, the first visible silver dapple Clydesdale, and Persephone, the first palomino Gypsy Vanner!

Stallions are always free for breeding, though I'd appreciate seeing the intended mare in advance before finalizing approval. I prefer some of my males not be used for inbred or Grade foals, though I may make Grade exceptions for gene introductions in other breeds.

Announcements (October)

Persephone and Morcha'tupten are available for RB trade this upcoming season:
     

I'm primarily looking for RBs with 1st or 2nd generation Vanner mares, without tobiano patterning, though I am also interested in 1st or 2nd generation Clydesdale mares. I'm not interested in solid flaxen chestnuts at this time, since I'll be breeding my Verin'relun. Please note, I might be a little picky over requests for Persephone.

For Persephone, I'd appreciate her not being used to breed Grade or inbred foals. I know, it's really tempting to breed her to her nephew Gabriel. Please resist the temptation. XD

For Morcha'tupten, I only ask she not be bred to her sons or grand-children. If you wish to breed Grade, I wouldn't mind hearing about your breeding plans. I'm curious to know them, especially if you wish to introduce genes into a Clydesdale line. =)

If I weren't trying to get new blood into my Quinsta lines and if I bred tobianos, I'd totally consider an RB with Tsuritsa. She's a very pretty girl. =)

Whimsy: I have a feeling my RB requests are going to be a bit too demanding overall. If I can't find a mare I'm willing to trade RBs for, I'll be considering general bribes, and kittens is a tempting bribe. =D

Red: I'm pretty sure palomino roan and palomino dun are possible, since I believe I've seen examples of them in Stable horses. One of these days I hope we'll see a few Quinsta examples. =)

Red: If I'm breeding casually or for possible trade, I don't mind Tt tobianos, and I imagine some of my Vanners would be useful in testing heterozygous tobiano actually. Mostly it's if I'm really heart-set on a project, such as my 2nd generation palomino project that resulted in Persephone, that I'll be extremely picky in my choice of parents.

Maybe I'm being a bit overly cautious or overcomplicating things for myself. I just don't want to take the long-shot chance that someone will have a short-lined, non-tobiano Vanner foal and be willing to trade him/her if I don't get a foal I'm willing to keep. I'll give it all some thought though. =)

Ahh, getting cream genes in my herd is definitely on my want list, so I already had my eye on Persephone. Take a look at my mares, maybe? My new blue roan sabino girl is off limits, but I have several other Gypsy mares with no tobiano, plus solid Arabs and a Clyde

I definitely have had my eye on Hráva and Elmenda though, and Russariel was always one of my favorite solid chestnuts. I'll have to consider who I'd pair with them before making a decision, but I'll keep you and your lovely Vanner girls in mind. Out of curiosity, did you have any stallions in mind for pairing with Persephone?

Haha, no, this is actually the first planning I've done for October XD Definitely a Gypsy stud, maybe a chestnut tobiano, since I like red-based creams best and love tobiano on Gypsies. Or I have a new stud as of last season, brown silver dapple tobiano... maybe him

Ooh, your new stud definitely is a lovely boy. Normally I'd encourage such an awesome sounding pairing, but a potential sooty buckskin silver dapple tobiano would be identical to Angel and Gabriel, unless you'd like to try for a foal similar to them.

As for cream tobiano, I'll admit, I fell in love with Ryuu's beautiful palomino girl along with everyone else. XD I do have Loear'turran if you prefer minimal generations, and there's that new chestnut tovero boy that was born last season.

Just some food for thought to consider. I'm just amused I'm having an easier time encouraging your potential pairings than considering what I could pair with your lovely girls. =)

There are all those nifty silver dapple yellow dun Arabians out and about, but I've never seen a yellow dun Vanner. Mind if I pair Hráva with Astris in trade for Persephone's RB? You'd also have permission for Loear'turran too, of course. =)

Oh man, October can't come quickly enough. Even if Hráva doesn't have a yellow dun foal, it'll be a stunner regardless. =D

Also, I still have stallions up for stud, guys! XD I know they're rather plain compared to most (with perhaps the sole exception of silvery Chanda, and even then I'll admit some of his recent sons outshine him), but I can give pairing advice and point you in the direction of nice potential mates for your unpaired mares, regardless of whether they're mine or not.

Sure thing! I think your pairing would benefit us both, since I'd like to test Sakuya's extension and I imagine you'd like to reveal Ereth'fela's full agouti and tobiano. If you need any help with her current genetics or what the offspring reveals, just let me know. =)
