you want your standard to say something about the kennel it is for.  If you look at my newest Standard and then click on the rainbowy banner in my sig you can see how they match.

Some people don't match them, they just have some colors they like, Have fun with it though

My main kennel does and doesn't.  it is black with Hotpink yet the standard is light blue and hot pink (the site represents my youngest daughter and the pack represents my oldest)

I'm still deciding on a Kennel name, and I don't want to commit to a standard until I have a name. I've grown rather fond of Storm Watch Kennels, but SWK is taken as a prefix, and the next best alternative is SWaK... goodness, that's just awful. Fun, but awful. XD

My main kennel is for hounds, but since I have basically three types (the "aristocratic type" sighthounds, the not so aristocratic sighthounds, and the scenthounds) I don't know for sure if all of my standards are going to resemble one another very closely at all lol XD

I'm fond of wordplay too, Spring, but my attempts tend to fall flat. I had to talk myself out of naming my Stable something horrible. Rain Chance Ranch, prefix RaCR. I can imagine my mare staring me down with a murderous glint in her eyes. XD

Then there was Ordinary Kennel, prefix OrK, which I quickly talked myself out of. I'm not a gamer geek, I swear.
