Thank you Silv

Earlier today my beloved corgi Dexter passed away, I've had him for 11 years, he was my lazy little food motivated cohort with the cute expressions, laying around like an awkward rug with his back feet sticking straight out behind him in what we liked to call "flat butt" pose.











Today, after hearing about him, Silv made me the above Kennel dog, a perfect little look alike down to his lack of tail. Thank you so much Silv, he means the world to me <3<3

Ohh, my. What a cutie. That's so sad. My baby corgi will be two soon. I am the runner of the 'Corgi Page' (as I call it, it's a fan page for pembrokes) on facebook. A couple people have lost corgis this month. It is very sad.

I don't know what I'd do without little Triscuit.
Your dog was very cute. Silv was so kind to make a tail-less corgi Mines isn't completely tail-less. My puppy has a little nub. Hehe.
But, I'm sorry. It's hard to lose a pet. Especially a pet you've had for so long.

Oh, Leafy, I'm so sorry to hear about Dexter!  *snugs* I can't imagine what I'd do without my much-loved Lab mix Callie.  Silv was so very kind to make you a mimic to remember him by.

Incidentally, one of Callie's canine friends is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  They really are wonderful dogs, outgoing and intelligent.  And Dexter was a very handsome boy who was well loved.  I'm sure he felt as lucky to have you in his life as you were to have him.  11 years is a good, long life for a dog, though I know it seems way too short to the humans that are left behind.  I still miss my old cat Katrina; had her for 15 years and we put her to sleep five years ago, but I still remember my laid-back calico feline sofa cushion. <3

Yeah, it's gonna be hard for you for awhile, but at least you had 11 years of good memories and good times with your boy, and gave him a home where he knew he was loved.  And if you ever need to talk about anything...we're here to listen.

-gives you so much love- man... I'm so sorry you are going through this, losing a loved pet is always so difficult. At least he had a good long run surrounded by people who cared about him. <3 The mimic is gorgeous, a wonderful match of him.

The worst part is getting used to the fact that he's not where he should be. He's not sleeping in my closet, or at the door when I get home, waiting for me to scratch down his back while he stretches as far as he can, or running around outside barking at me to be faster so I can let him in for dinner. It's hard... Thank you guys for the kind words, Dexter and I have a lot of memories, and things happen for a reason sometimes, this may just be opening the door for something new to come into my life.
