This weekend was Sean and my first horse show of the season. Our local show park, where this show took place, has morphed in recent years into one of the most competitive in my state. I was riding in the low children's hunter division (2'6" jumps), which is typically the largest class in the hunters; I was competiting in a class of 22 people.

Yesterday, the first day of the show, I fired off two lovely rounds. I placed second in class one and first in class two, which was amazing; I've never gotten a blue ribbon in the year I've owned Sean, and this class was highly competitive. I couldn't have been happier <3

Today was the last day of the show, and we had two more very nice rounds :) Not of yesterday's calibur, but with no major problems. I placed first in class three and third in class four.

And, as it turns out, Sean and I were the high point champions in the low children's hunter division (which was comprised of the previously-mentioned four classes), out of an abnormally large class of 22! :)  Considering that we'd never won a blue ribbon before this weekend, this is huge <3 I am so proud of Sean, and myself, as conceited as that sounds. Bring on next week's show! ;)

Congrast Rav, that is great and you must take pictures of pretty blue ribbons and Sean for us, as that is something that should be documented

I know how it feels. I was so proud of myself when my polish banties won best in show one year, and that wasnt even something I had to interactively do. Then again, my mom entered her hen, and it only got white, which everyone at least gets white.

It was funnier because that was "her" hen, and the only animals on the farm I didnt care for where "her" show pets. The rest I cared for under my parents instructions. "My" show pets I was allowed to go agaisnt the instructions placed by my parents for the rest of the farm, and care for them how I saw fit.

So, a white for moms, a few reds for the others we entered that I cared for thier way, and best of show for the ones I raised my own way. You know how many kids would love that kind of vindication to tell thier parents, "yes, see, I *AM* smarter than you!" lol

Grats on the show, bask in that happy glow, you deserve it. And good luck on future ones!

Congrats! :D I can't wait to start showing. :D My friend and I are sharing a lease this year, so we're just waiting until my instructor gets the horse. :D

Last season, at my first and only show (I decided to start showing after 5 years of riding, and near the end of the season xD), I got six ribbons out of seven classes (1 first, 2 thirds, 2 fourths and 1 fifth). I was especially proud of the third place ribbon I got in Junior Equatation in a group of 8, junior was I think 13 up to 18, and there were a lot of people with their own horse, and they rode everyday with the same horse and had been riding since they were really young. But, I managed to win after 12 lessons (with one or two times just riding without instruction) with a horse that I hadn't ridden since I just started. So, it was an achievement since I didn't have much time to prepare. :)

Okay, the second week finished up today :)

In the low child equitation, I got second and fourth in my two rounds.

In the low children's hunters, I got a first, a second, two thirds, and a fourth in my five classes. This got me a total of 26 points -- so Sean and I were reserve champions of the division this week :D The distressing thing is that I only lost by 1/2 a point, as the champion had 26 1/2 points to my 26. Oh well, still very proud of Sean and myself :)
